Really the monster is great for what its designed to do. Great price also. I use them in my RC drag cars and they get a hammering but i am selfish and always want more.

Data logging would likely decrease equipment failure rates as people could see what strain they are putting on there electronics and it would also be a super tuning tool. Could prevent things like the three ESC's I just got back repaired from castle.

would rather have 8s capability in the same size and price, i dont think the mamba monster i due to an upgrade any time soon. its a pretty nice esc.

As long as a product is selling well, no desire for evolution would the manufacturer have. Castle doesn't have to run ahead too much farther before competitors catch up, they tend to stay where they are and wait.

So, stop buying MMM to accelerate Patrick release his new ideas...

the Monster is a very good ESC, the only feature that I would think will be necessary for a hardware update is to have a variable voltage BEC like the newer stuff does. (:

That's pretty cool. It would be like the CastleLink- plug it in, app opens automatically, reprogram, done.

BlueTooth would be far better, but there are royalties associated with it.

Agreed. 6s/120 amps and pretty tough all at a good price and backed by a great warranty and even once the warranty is expired their repair cost is very reasonable (especially considering you get it back inside of a month compared to several months for other manufacturers that charge more). I've been happy with all of mine (on my 3rd one now). Data logging and a more robust BEC would be good additions but even without them I still buy them and recommend them to people. I've seen a few here local that have blown up, caught fire, or just let the smoke out but for the price and capabilities IMO you can't get a better ESC.

Evolution never really comes to and end. Making little improvements here and there on any ESC is likely, but making major changes usually results in a new product line, such as the MMXL. The MMM is great for what it was designed and intended for. All of the suggested changes or additions would be great, but there is no way to add all of that without a serious increase in pricing. Some of the MGM's already have most of the items requested, and look at the pricing on those babies. Considering where the "E" side of this hobby was a few years ago things have come a long way already, and will continue to improve in power ranges, and quality for sure. The bells and whistles are no different from those seen on 1:1 vehicles and are not necassarily wanted or needed by everyone in the industry. This is why MGM does more of the personal designs at customer requests.

We are already getting spoiled with the improvements that we have seen lately and of course we would like things to keep moving forward just like they do in the PC business. R&D takes time and money. Patients is the problem now a days. We want it now, and do not care what it takes to get us there. I remember a few years ago when the MM was the best thing going, and people were doing anything they could to get their hands on them. Plus modifying them to make them even better and more durable with CAP banks and better cooling. Look where that has gotten us now. CC will continue to improve their line in an effort to stay ahead of the compition. Personally I think they are doing a fabulous job. I like the fact that Patrick stops in here from time to time for product updates, suggestions, and even leaks on new products coming up in the near future. Thanks Patrick and CC. Please keep up the great work on our behalf.

NOTE: I do believe that we will continue to see increases in voltage and power handling capability now that a lot of the electronic manufacturers have gotten a good grasp on what works and what does not. We are all hungry for more, and all of us know that things are going to get better and better as time marches on.

The only problem I see here is that Castle is going to get left behind in the 1/8th scale area. The MMM is great ESC and the Castle service is second to none but have a look around and you will see that everybody is pushing into the sensored 1/8th ESC market. Hobbywing, Tekin, MGM and Novak have 1/8th Sensored ESC (although Novak being only 4S capable doesn't pose a huge threat) and even Toro8/Trackstar 150 will be available in sensored version really soon.

What I think they should do is keep the current MMM as there is nothing really wrong with it but sell it along side a MMM Pro (or what ever they want to call it) which would have: Sensored operation, solder posts, data logging and Bluetooth or Android application capability. Being Castle and the ESC being backed by theirs second to none service people would be willing to pay a fair bit more than for the standard MMM. Heck, I would for sure.

I think it would be worth it but then again I am not a business man and it's not me laying out the money on the development. I just Hope that Patrick's limited input and total silence from the other Castle techs means that they are working on something like whats being discussed in this thread and just want to keep quiet and give nothing away. Well I hope so.

I can't see sensored being that hard given they have the MMPro...

Data logging I think is just added expense and weight - 98% of people just wont use it or care. I know I used it a few times with the Baja's and now just don't bother...

i would really like to see data logging in a 1/8 castle esc. that's the biggest change that i would like to see. the android programming thing would also be very nice especially since i recently got an android phone (HTC thunderbolt).

But do be sure that we are constantly upgrading the line... We are on V5 of the monster now, and just started shipping Monsters with a new MOSFET that runs cooler than the original.

How can someone tell what version they have? I just recieved a non warranty replacement less than a month ago....would it be the version 5? I know it had a little blue tag on one of the battery wires that said "new stock"
