FLM Hybrid Bulks

The combo bulks take the stock diffs while the hybirds take the 1/8buggy diffs. It is 30 bucks difference in price as well.

hmmm, I see what happened. Thanx a bunch for the help guys. Now, I think I would be better of getting the gears instead of replacinvg the bulks, coz I am gonna be going brushless anyways (7xl, 9920 as squee suggested in my other post). Correct me if I am wrong please.

Now, with the gears, is there any specific brand or anything else I should be looking at..!! The goal is reliability since I buy once and cry once :).

I would get 8 spyders, 6 will work too. But the 8's are better. go to supermaxx and check ebay, there are some there now. or go to Unlimited Engineering and shop, go to differentials. HB's work too, Squee knows what kind to get. My cvd's, i'll send a pic tonight.

The 1/8 diffs are much stronger. It is a good idea to get the gears instead of bulks. Less damage in the long run to wallet. I would go with the 8 spyder setup as well or hb diffs. If you get the set of ofna off ebay get a set of ue diff cups for I have damaged a cvd cause of the length difference.

You may be better off going to UE and build yourself as then you would know how they are built. If someone else has built them, you're not sure what you're getting

excuse my ignorance for being a newbie, but whats the diff between spyder 8 and 6..!!!

It's ok, i'm still kinda one myself...anyways, the number of inside gears and strength, hence the names. Go to UE and you'll see. the 6 use the plastic cups, the 8's use the aluminum. local hobby shop has a set of robinson racing diff gear set for like $35. is that a good one or what..!!!

You can try them, but "buy once, cry once"! If you plan on getting the set up squee suggested, I would stick to UE, in the long run ( and you'll learn this fast ), getting the UE's or HB's from Mike, will save you much heart ache man, ask anyone here! I have gone cheaper many times and burned my self money wise. I jsut went thru my receipts, i actually lost over 750.00 because I went cheap and then got the "real" stuff.

newuser, how fast is ur truck? have u had a chance to check the speed? Ur setup looks pretty good.

Hustler, go with the HB 6 spyders. There superstrong and replacement parts are pretty common since the Savy uses the same internals. The HB can't be beat for the price. Oh, and don't get the Pro versions, get the standard Lightning's. They have the standard gear ratio and not the truggy gear ratio. If your gonna run 12 or 14 cells max, then yes, the 7 or 8XL would be my choice. 8 if you want more runtime...

Also, isnt 8 a lil slow then 7xl..?? how much runtime penalty are we talking abt here.?

Not sure how fast. 40's i'm sure... i think these are what squee is talking about... http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...HPI_BUGGY_DIFF as far as run time give or take 5-10min i would guess. i would go with the 8 myself, but not quit sure on the run time difference.
