Well..now the only way to confirm the safty of the motor and that it is not damaged or defective is to throw in a 13.2 volts pack and see what I could see with eyes unclouded. Wish me luck fellas.

There is no luck needed. I ran a 1920 5 turn motor with 14.4 volts on my emaxx before. Ran REALLY hot, but thing didn't blow up. Then, the pinion gear fell off and the motor was REALLY screaming (took me a couple of seconds to realize that the pinion was off while I was trying to floor it!!!)

The 5 turn is way over 6000 KV so I was in the realm of like 70-80000 rpm!!!

BTW, I'm not saying that the 9918 can't handle it, but I know that my 12.97 would thermal under race conditions with the c406s and the 1920 5.

The 12.97 is no match for the 9918 warrior controller in terms of its ability to handle the heat. The lack of a heat sink makes it thermal pretty easy, actually. I meant good luck driving the car! I know the motor and controller will handle the duty no problem.

Hi there everyone, I just got a very good power supply three days ago and I had the chance to charge my 13.2 pack too. I went to visit my relatives and I took my T4 with me and it was equipped with the super brushless setup. I went to the front street of my relatives' house and put down my truck, activated the transmitter, activated my car and it was 12:45 AM. I gave it only 10% of throttle and it went on in a moderate pace around 19-20 MPH then I gave it 40-50% throttle and it behaved like if it was running with a 10 turn double brushed motor( it was pretty cool indeed) eventually I went for 100% throttle and....MWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA. The speed is simlpy astonishing and to tell the truth I have not seen its true speed yet because the street was pretty short and the truck instantly flipped on its back the first Time it acelerated to full throttle and it kept crawling on its back for a meter and a half ( the truck was running without its body so I committed the most stupid thing for a first run) as a result the front and rear shock towers almost worn out, but fortunately they did not break. The truck makes wheelies the whole time and the power was devastating (not really) and the speed was beyond any speeds I've ever seen and do not think that I'm lying if I say that the truck reached the realm of the 70s mph. I even saw the rear tires ballooning to the point that I thought It was going to blow out. Now for the drawbacks: At some point the 9920 seemed to thermal a bit and it was very hot as well as the motor and I also found that the truck was lacking acceleration power as well and only after a couple of minutes of running. One possible reason could be the ESC itself and that its not delivering enough power to the motor, because the motor is a Hi-Amp version that sucks a lot of power from the controller either during acceleration or continuos running. Another reason could be the gear ratio which is around 10.2:1 ??! So what do you think everyone?

70mph is a very nice target! Stick a Venom speed meter in and give us some figures. :)

Anything above 50mph is way too fast for me, is it controllable?

Absolutely it is uncontrollable. Now I'm thinking about putting the 1930/5 in my B4 with 14.4 volts and it could fly away goodby.

What batteries were you using? The controller will deliver the power to the motor with no problem. If it was lacking acceleration, it could be a battery issue(not able to deliver the power). The controller will throttle down if the voltage dips below around 55% of its starting voltage(when it is plugged in). Sounds like you had a good time, though!

Well I really dont know, but probably because of the pressure I was in while I was running it with all that speed in my hands. Do you think that because I have mounted the ESC in the rear shock tower and because the flow of air could not reach it properly it started to thermal a bit? I even took it out to check it and the shrink cover of the controller shrank even more to the point that it ripped at some places. The controller was truly hot( no kidding). And one other thing: the 3PK transmitter has a function called -throttle acceleration-which enables you to increase speed of acceleration even more and maybe that played a role in heating up my controller.!! :C:

You had to be running it pretty hard to get a thermal! dRop a tooth or so on the pinion and see if it happens again.

It is amazing how hard it is to get a RC car over 60 and be under control of it. It took me quite a bit of tuning and the right tires until I finally got it to stop flipping over just before 60 mph.

When a traxxas bandit flips over at 60 it will do approximately 10-15 rolls in about 100 ft of space. Really cool to see lol.

I can finally get over 60 no problem now but still haven't got to 70 mph. I am going to try again next week. I use about 500-600 feet of road for these runs and my best runs have been with my lehner 5300 and 9918.

Get a GPS for that thing Captain. It really sounds like a beast and I would love to here how the T4 handles at speeds over 60.

I bet it's a blast on 13.2 volts:D
