Glad you are enjoying the system. On 12 cells, that thing is gonna be pretty stupid!

Rusty - have you had the opportunity to attach the GPS to your Rustler? I've been in the contemplation stage for a month or so lurking around to see what people are able to run but still don't know exactly what I'm looking for. I've got my e rusty running about 30 now (or 36 way over geared) on 8 gp cells and would like to go just a little faster - 40 to 45 without heat issues would be where I'd like to be. I've seen many posts with the speed recorded by "wicked fast", "way to fast", "almost uncontrollable" but never a true speed attached. I've found that my rustler is controllable at 36 - in a straight line and want to get to the "almost uncontrollable" stage. I bash around with a couple of nitro cars during lunches and am left in the dust.

Thanks!

When me and CombatCM got together with the GPS a few days back, we put it on along with 14cells. Stupid me didn't realize the dogbone cups were creating alot of friction on the tranny case, and the ESC thermaled after about 5 seconds. I'm in the process of freeing up the drivetrain, and once i do we'll take another crack at it. I'm curious as well how fast it actually goes with a pile of cells on it. :D My brushed setup went 28 with regular gearing on 6cells, and the new brushless setup feels like its got a little more top end but with MUCH more acceleration.
Once i get some ##'s i'll post them for sure.

It depends on the person and how fast they have driven.

At first 40 mph was uncontrollable to me. Now that seems slow (on road) and anything over 55 mph is where it gets hard to control. This is in a traxxas bandit.

I've run 36 to 38 and am pretty comfortable with it. My concern is that I can't seem to get a rough estimation of speeds with brushless setups. I don't like the idea of putting $300 into a setup that doesn't match what I'm used to running with my brushed setup. Is there any way to find that information out?

You can always calculate the ideal rpms of each motor if you use the number of cells and rpms. I think a 15 turn motor is somewhere around 27000 rpms. on 6 cells
