when you have the ubec and esc all wired. you have to switch both to make work?

do you know if using a traxxas TQ-3 controll will give me any glitches or anything. and will i still be able to shift?

To shift, you need a 3-channel radio, which is what the TQ3 is. However, you probably won't ever use first gear unless you want some finer low speed control.

Some people have problems with glitching, some don't. You'll just have to see. Just keep the receiver, antenna, and low signal wires (throttle) as far away as you can from any high current wires (power and motor wires).
