seems that if i buy a new truck the MGT is the way to go.

if i decided to drop in an engine on my crt and put some bigger tires on it (to make it look more like a MT) how do you think it would perform? would it be durable enough? im sure it would since its meant for racing.

also what engine would be a nice dropin?

Are you looking for a cheap engine, or something really reliable and race worthy?

Cheap: IMO, nitro engines are like that old saying: You get what you pay for. I see a lot of guys running Picco P3 engines, Ofna engines, Losi engines, blah blah. If I get a replacement engine for any of my trucks, I always look at OS first.

Reliable and race worthy - RB, Ninja, but would go with an OS VZ-B or any of their other big blocks over any others.

well i might not race it idk. probably just take it out places and mess around.

one of my freinds rides quads so maybe ill go riding quads w/ him then drive our rc cars also.

idk.

i still have to see if he wants to get one.

if not ill just keep my truck the way it is or something idk. i never use it. its like 1000 dollars just sitting being wasted.

Why don't you use it?

I stuffed my Revo in a box for 8 months when I first joined. I had no use for it then with all the training and running around I was doing. I didn't sell it since I knew the bug would hit me again.

2 reasons why i dotn use it.

lack of time.
lack of people to do it with.

sure i can go to the track and have fun but i almost always work the days its open. also its not too much fun since i go by myself and i dont like the owner of the track.

i wish i could bash it more but its not fun going out somewhere by myself.

ya i COULD keep it and maybe buy 2 dewalt packs (2 5s2p setups)

that would give me around 45 minutes of fun along with my 4500 FP pack but i feel like gas is funner when someeone else has gas. you hear them going and you dont have to worry about running out of battery.

sure you will run outta gas but then you just fill it up

i do realize gas is expensive and in the long run it will be more money but in the shorterm it is nice.

i was thinkiing about maybe getting a 5B because then it would require no motor maintancence and gas is a HELL of alot cheaper. problem is the size. i dont know if it will be too big. a sort of freind of mine has one and so i was talking to him today and asked if i could drive it sometime. im thinking of taking it out with me when i go riding quads with my g/f and freinds.

then i can see what i wanna do.

i am always going to be indecisive or w/e the word is when it comes to doing things. sometimes i REALLY wanna do things and other times i could care less. idk what it is but o well i deal with it.

Forgot to tell you, the Axial engines are getting some good feedback, you might want to try one of those in the CRT.

+1 on that. The Axial .28RR engine is a great deal. At $140 or so its the best nitro bang for the buck out there IMO. I have one and just slapped it in an old buggy, broke it in and it has run flawlessly ever since. Tunning is the easiest I have had and it holds a tune prefectly. Not sure how it will do when it starts to get up in gallons. I'm sure it will not last as long as a high end motor, but for a cheap motor that runs strong and tunes easy they are very nice IMO.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

alright well if i decide to drop in a gas engine ill try that one out.

if i were to stick with BL what battery would get me the best runtime with a 4s setup spending around 2-300?

i figure i could buy 2 dewalt packs making 2 5s2p setups and that would give me some good runtimes correct? around 30 minutes (15 min each)

or i could get a 5ah evo 30 and how long would that give me?

the a123s would be nice IMO because of the quick charge time.

if i had a dc-ac power converter in my truck could i run my PS and charger in the truck?

thanks!

I think a converted Hellfire Truggy would be perfect. And I happen to know someone who is looking for a home for their hellfire - I'd even finish it for you.

I chuckled when I read Brian's post. Spoken wisely...haha.

You should try a TrueRC 8000mah 4s. They're $140, I think. Their 4000mah are $75 and the 5000mah are $90. Not bad! I'll be getting my next lipo through them.
