I'm using a single servo setup as well and it works great. I went with the new JR Z9100T, it has plenty of both speed and Torque.
Torque: 300 oz/in @ 4.8V, 370 oz/in @ 6V
Speed: .18 sec / 60 degrees @ 4.8V, .15 sec / 60 degrees @ 6V
It's a little pricey but well worth it.
Nice Truck BTW!
That radio sounds really nice, is it a "Spektrum type" radio?

On a monster truck once you pass 200oz of torque or so speed starts to matter. Less then 200oz the speed means nothing. Obviuosly the setup and tire size can effect this, but generally this is what I found.

I still like the old Airtronics 200oz .10sec servos. They do the job very nicley on a MT without going overboard on the price.

The speeds are under no load, and steering creates quite a bit of load - enough load as to where the speeds will be no where near the servo's rating...

It may be so, but i haven't decided yet about the servos. Maybe i will use just one 5955GT. But i really do like the look of two servos and this truck will be a very all-round but mostly cool-looking truck. And i think that the 10.6Kg that each 5965MG produces will be enough. So i will probably go with dual servos...

And the crawling part is not serious, it's just more something that i do when i'm at home and bored. I do very well know that the G3R isn't any good at crawling, to low and individual suspension. But hey, it's what i got and it will do for me. But i think that what i'm doing in my backyard is more like bashing...

That sound like a nice servo to. But once again that's just one servo, which will leave me with one open hole in the other side.

And no it's not a Spektrum type radio, it's better! It's faster and more reliable, and i also think it has longer range to.

My 2c is the 5955 - It really made by Truggy come alive and hence just invested another 89 in another new one for my e-revo.

Just use the spare tab to mount your rx or esc... :)

Yea, maybe i will mount the ESC in the front instead and use the other side of the servo plate to mount the transciever, but then my mounting plate will be useless! And also, wont the weight bias get wrong if you put all the electronics in the front? And my idea was to mount the ESC in the rear so that i could make a hole for the fan in the rear of the body, and make some nice painting around it. Anyway that's a later problem, for the moment i need money for the differentials, driveshafts and some other stuf... Servos are not prioritized.

You have so right team3six and therefore, here are some new pics with the shocks mounted and the transciever in place (yes i will use just one servo, cheaper and more room in front of the slipper)!


The "car" with nice, almost new GTR pro shocks. The springs will be changed later and i can assure you that the wiring will be fixed later on too, as soon as i get the shrinkwrap for my LVC. The servo is just there to test the fit, i will not use that one to steer the car...


The shocks, with silver springs for the moment. They will be changed to Gold springs later though. I think they look pretty good to be used ones, and they where cheap to. Go Ebay!


I think I will order the remaining two steering blocks, driveshafts and wing mount later today. I'm really excited to see the wing mount irl and mount it to my Revo. So stay tuned for more updates!
