Modified MambaMax can handle XL motor with no problems, the only benefit of MMM would be direct support in software of 6S LiPo.
All the rest would be similar to the last generation MambaMax with maybe better heatsinking (all Fets on the top with heatsink).
I still not quite get it why they dropped USB?! Money saving feature...or with new firmware they run out of space and ditch USB interface.

We will see, I am looking only for new neu-like motor with "mambamax" sticker :)

Yes, you will need to use the Castle-Link to program the MMM. Who knows though, maybe the MMM will come with the C-link included.

Hope not... I already have one and dont want to or need to pay for another one. If they can save some $$$ and come out with a USB free MM I'd be glad to buy it for $20 less too.

It's kind-of a catch-22 for Castle. If they don't include the C-Link, some people will complain that they "spent all that money and can't even program it." If they include C-Link there will be a "I already paid for one of these" crowd. Can't win.

Guys I read on Rctech that it won't be out till March. I hope this isnt true. Hopefully someone from Castle will come on here and respond. Here is the Quote.....

"Our Monster Max
system should be available in March[/u][/i][/b]. With these, the drive train of the
vehicle becomes the weak link, not the ESC. "

I cant possibly see how anybody can be surprised by that. In March they will tell us June. Its been going on like that for a year now. Someday they will get here, but theres no telling when. I thought CC had finally learned to keep their mouth shut and just deliver the product.

Maybe they have learned and it will be out in march. Who knows. They were pretty close with the sidewinder predictions.

A programming card would be nice from them. People have been harping them forever about one.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere (can't remember where though) that the MMM will come supplied with a Castle Link. It'd be a real backwards step if the MM was PC-programmable out of the box and the MMM isn't. It's weird that the dropped the direct USB connection though; it's not like space for the port should be a real issue for the MMM...

Remember the mamba max was really a platform launch to enter into rc car world for CC.
They may have put USB for.

Demonstration of strenght/ engineering abilities
More feature than other brand for the same price
Castle link may mean nothing for the average joe, but USB connector is well know and "Cool" (even my dad know what is that :D)

In some way sidewinder doesn't need it because cost and because it's meant to be plug and play
MMM is a little more for a growing nich market, only electric fanatics (hu ?) know what is this thing and the cost of castle link mean nothing compared to the cost of the overall setup.

P: sorry for the engrish :/

The USB port is a space hog. I would rather have a smaller controller with the castle link included (or not)

The USB port and associated interface IC can't be that big. I personally wouldn't mind a slightly larger ESC to have it. One of the reasons why I like USB is because I have about a bazillion cables at home (camera, MM, etc), so even if I lose one, I have several more.

Not to mention, with USB port you can program it from anything handheld

totally agree with this. plus this esc is made for 1/8th scale and monster trucks we should be able to spare the little extra space needed for a usb port.

So the Mamba Monster F*%$ing Maxx will be out in March, eh?

Oh well, I've already have countless BL controllers in my possition. If the MMM and the Tekin R1/8 will be as smooth as butter in the Big Dogs, I might get one of them.

We all have been waiting for more than 2 years for these things to come out, and they're still not here.

O' God.....
