Losi 8T 1.0, Savage Flux - XL style, LST XXL, Muggy, 3.3 E-Revo Conversion and sitting outside 425hp, 831 Tq Dodge Ram Turbo Diesel. It SMOKES

Actually, I kinda like the new improved E maxx tires. They are stiffer than the originals and don't seem to swell as bad.

Real Tires? Got any suggestions?

How fast do you think it is with the single speed tranny?

Speed wise you will be limited by the largest pinion you can find and the smallest spur gear that will still allow decent gear mesh and some motor to tranny clearance. Looks like a 25/36 mod1 combo would be the minimum size. Which would give plenty of gear for almost all of the proposed setups.

Sike, what do you think the max rpm a 2826 axi can be spun up to? 15k - 20k rpm?

I have ran this setup on 6S. It runs really well on 6S too.

The motor being 920kv on 6S (22.2 volts), would top out at 20424 rpms. It makes a really high pitched whine at that speed, but it works very well. No problems.

I'm really thinking about buying the AXI 2826 8 turn. At 1130kv, it should pick up the top speed quite a bit. There is NO lack of torque. On 6S, this is going to spin up around 25,000rpms.

They seem to be VERY well balanced. I don't see a problem turning this kind of rpms. I'm going to let temps be my guide, and if I blow the windings out of one, I'll just rewind it anyway. LOL

Top Speed is lacking at around 30mph or so. I'm going to be making some changes to take care of that.

I had to start somewhere on the gearing. I figured this would be a good place to begin.

It's VERY torquey, and on a short track, would hang pretty tough.

Looks like you've finally got a toy and not a project. I think I need to order a couple large piles of dirt like yours. My poor yard is barren.

Maybe they will come out with a different tranny design. Lets hope so!

Time for my thread on my new emaxx.

Well I finally got a chance to run my E maxx again. Got a few jumps in, ran around a little bit and the steering started acting erratic. It acted like the steering was binding. Sometimes it would turn and sometimes it wouldn't.

I disconnected the servo's and checked the steering linkage. Nothing is binding, it's turns VERY freely.

Looks like these "Water proof" servo's are NOT really all that tough. Anyone got any suggestions on some tough ones? I think both of these just stripped out. They don't have to be super strong, just tough, since there will be two of them serving the purpose.

I have a CC BEC set to 6.0 volts, but I didn't think that should hurt them like this.

I am pretty sure their initial plan was to use an opti sensor on that two speed.

What temps Sike? (ambient/motor/controller?)

An opti sensor huh? Could they be planning on releasing something else that takes advantage of this? If so, I wonder what it could be?

Ambient the day of the Vids was around 45 degrees.

The motor warms up to about 115. I can sense No heat at all coming from the ESC. The ESC is oversized, but very cool running.

I may swap out the Monster Pro 125 amp for a Brand New Quark 80amp that I have on hand. The 80amp is more than enough to handle this setup I believe.

The Lipo's might have been 85-90 degrees or so.

The setup isn't very stressed at this point.

The Motor fan is required however. Also, on the 10 turn, the stator poles are wound so full, I believe it is really limiting the amount of air flow the fan will pull.

There could be a difference in this area with the 8 turn motor.

I use the cheezemaster-deluxe MG995 servos. Haven't beat them up that much, but others report having good luck with them. Dang powerful (you'll only need one) and at <$20 you can afford to blow through a few.

Looks like you simple trashed the S out of it.. :)

The 995's are pretty tough servo's indeed!
