I was planning on waiting for it, to put in my buggy. But like you said, I got "tired of waiting"... so i went with the MM. Waiting for it to get here too. :)

I made my decision based on having a gap in my finances now, so i got the quarks. If i am able to when they come out i'll get a MMM, but had to get something now

I know the feeling. I finally caved and bought the MM as a temporary solution. I need/want a more capable esc for the future.

Whats up guys--new to the forum and the brushless 8 scale as well. I have been checking out your site and all of its great info, and definately want to make my buggy brushless. I a buddy who sent Tim Mohr with castle a letter about the MMM, and he said that the esc is done, but the problem they are having is with the motor. He said they may decide to release just the esc and farm out the motor at this time. He said that by the time i was to get all my stuff running and tested that the esc should be on the market. Don't know how accurate this is--but thought some of you may be interested.:027:

Welcome to the forums!

That is good news! However, many here (myself included) are skeptical about any statement from Castle containing the term "soon". Soon to them apparently means years. Don't get me wrong, I like their stuff, but this wait is just rediculous!

Yup, Patrick said that just a bit over a month ago and there really hasn't been any updates since then. I'd be surprised to see it on the market in under a month now, considering it hasn't (AFAIK) gone to beta yet.

I have got disappointed in them.
I not sure if I would buy one now.
They really have to have something to grab my attention.

Peace!

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the MMM. Heck, I'd be satisfied (for now) with a software fix for the MM so that I could run Neu motors.

The MM is a fine controller and does well on 4S, especially in a buggy. I'd track down a Lehner 1930 hi amp in about a 2000kv or so flavor to run with the MM. I doubt that the combo would leave you disappointed.

Heck yeah. About time! Never thought it would take them so long for that software upgrade... I beginn to doubt if they'll ever manage to fix that.

BTW, when was the first time they had the "coming soon" ad of the MMM on their site???:007:

I don't think we will see a software upgrade for the Mamba Max until sometime after the release of the Monster Max. No need to buy the Monster Max if your little Mamba will run the Neu motors just fine!

Oh gosh, you just might be right. I'd be glad with the MMM too, though. But when? WHEN??

Although I am hoping for the software fix for the MM, the business side of me tells me that they won't release it until some time after the MMM is released. I would imagine that there would be at least some percentage of potential customers who would take a pass on the MMM (for now) if the MM ran four pole motors.

I have seen some interest in the MMM system (including the motor) on other forums, but I think that many here are more interested in the esc side of things. I know that if my MM would run the Neu motors, I'd have all that I really need for now, until I move the 1/5 scale stuff, and it would take a while before I blew up all of my MM controllers and HAD to buy a MMM.
