I wonder if beta testers can talk openly about various observations now?

One question...actually two. - 10.08.2009, 11:57 PM

Does the new MM Pro make the Monster Maxx obsolete? My GTP II is nearing completion and the intent is to run 2200 on 5-6 cells. And I actually have another question...what 1/10 anything can handle 6s lipo power and remain drivable?

More like the MM Pro making the MM obsolete, similar price and size with much more capability.

No, the Mamba Pro is intended for 1/10th and 1/8th buggies only -- it handles about 2/3 the power of the monster.

how much power can the Mamba Pro handle compared to the MM?

They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.

Patrick, since the MMPro is ready to release, is it ok for me to post a mini-review here from the beta testing?

Operating at up to 6S, Mamba Max Pro can handle nearly twice the power of the market standard Mamba Max!
I think there was mention of the MM Pro handling 80A continuous @ 6s, so just shy of 1,800 watts is what I'm assuming. That's 1,800 watts reliably and constantly, I have no doubt that it can handle 80A+ without a hitch.

lol. I would think so, but I guess the big guy must clear it first. Even though I also did the same thing, I am still interested in reading your write up cause I am sure its much more scientific then mine.

Please do Brian, I'd like to see what you think. I am eyeing up one of these for my 1/8 buggy next year, I liked my Mamba Monsters, and preferred the Castle Link to the Hotwire, so would quite like to go back from an RX8 to a MMP.

In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

Yes, since the first set are shipping today, you can openly talk about your experiences with the MMP.

Thanx!

The MMP is sweet! I only tried it up to 3s, but I did overgear the snot out of a Tekin 17.5 in both a T4 and SC10. My motor got very hot, but the controller was bearly warm. Never got the fan to turn on. I also tried running the sensored 17.5 with no sensor cable on 3s....surprisingly smooth.

I had slight cogging with the LRP motors in sensorless mode. No cogging with the orion motors.
