just for a comparison here is very old video of mine with a bl mp7.5, at 1.10 e.g. there is a pass by that seems not so slow just from watching it. and that buggy not even reached 50mph back then. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgJpHjMqqbM

whatever. its not that i cared much but i was just a little surprised from watching the vid.

It sometimes depends on the frame rate of the video, it might make a vehicle look slower. From what I've been told the GPS (If you do get a reading) are sometimes more accurate then the radar guns available to the public. I've also noticed that if the camera is still, the vehicles being video taped seems faster, but when the camera follows the vehicle it seems slower.

So many factors affect how your eyes gauge speed, you can never use them realistically as to determine it. This was something I had a conversation about with my brother (who is a cop) and some of his cop friends several years back. They were discussing how impossible it was to accurately tell a vehicles speed just watching and how most of the time there guesses were way off when compared to the radar readings. Things they said affect it greatly is other traffic on the road, trees and height of them, road width, weather (clouds, sun , etc), time of day, and noise level around and from the vehicle.

yeah i totally agree that its difficult to guess the speed by just watching at a vehicle. thats just what i was saying. when i watched the vid i would never have estimated that it was going that fast. but i easily believe that it can go 80mph. i mean why not.

It is true. Ever wonder why in a go kart you seem to be going really fast even if you are doing 50mph? Anyone can try this out. Go to your local go kart track (If you have one near by and if they allow such speeds) and get to 50mph. After that when you go home compare that to the 50mph in you real vehicle.

Yeah the Nabors was there shooting the radar at the same time.......the radar was within 1mph of all our runs. I know on the Rustler that ran about 30 times...hehe. It radared 72mph on the bushnell and 71.7mph on the GPS. That ought to tell you how accurate they are.....

The MMT is now apart for a little bit, getting some upgrades done and will be back out with a different motor next time.

Still around....just tired of replacing tires. Truck did end up going faster, but at the expense of blowing up phatlines left and right....it got old. Since no foams are allowed I'm at a stopping point. I have another motor and alot more power left on the table. But until someone can address the tire problem I'm done. With foams I could probably break 90+mph even with this big MMT.

Alright, the mighty jzemaxx is back. It was nice talking to you on the phone and all the best for the new family.

Foams are allowed jzemaxx, but they have to meet the size required. I'm going to send my uncle some rims so he can have them wrapped with real rubber and when I have them here, I'll send you a set to try out.

Edit: There's a guy that actually have truggy foam tires and I'm thinking of getting a set. If I do I'll let you know how it handles the power. The Proline foams I have for my BPP truggy handles the power very well, but they work with the 14MM hexes.

Guess I need to find the tallest foam tire I can run. Imex I think had them. The truck has unreal power and the XLB buggy I have finished is even more crazy. I have just been held back by tires and the rules. I know the last speed challenge for the MT class they strictly said no foams, so I guess they decided to change the rules.

They better have some rubber tires that can handle the high speed to put such a rule in effect. I'm going to talk to my uncle tomorrow to see if he'll have some time to make my tires. They'll be rubber and I guess they'll be allowed.

Have you torn the Phalts at the edges yet? I have worn through an entire set because the edge will wear and then tear. The foams fly out and the truck loses it. Not good at 60+.

The answer is no. And yes, mine is faster.

They split in the middle, the edges....pretty much everywhere above 70mph especially. They are brand new with 1 pass and they shred to pieces.
