Here are a few pics of the dead gear and the new one.
The new gear is from a Cen Genesis, it had a different output then standard 1/8th scale diffs so the bearing race was pressed out by mike(can see it in the picture.. Going to have to take the bearing race out of the old spur and fuse it to the new, most likely with 2 part epoxy or Jb weld.
That little output doesnt see that much flex or stress....does it?

I won.
The bearing race is a press fit with 2 part epoxy to hold it all together.

Just ran the hyper today, runs great(mostly). I dont have a temp gun so i couldnt check official temperatures, but the fiegao 8l was burnin hot at the rotor, my battery was only a little warm, and surprisingly the mamba max running on 5s was room temperature!
Since the car runs, My next objective is my body. I have a crowdpleaser body that only needs 2 more coats of paint to be done. Too bad as soon as i got home with the paint my can of black fell out of the bag and landed on some threaded rod, and broke open... luckily it was in the garage. I also ordered some reed switches, and I'm going to wire one in line with my switch for the MM, and mount it in a place where i can glue a magnet to the inside of the body, so as soon as I place the body on my car, the mm turns on! my goal is to have the least amount of holes as possible in the body. I ordered a 10 pack of reed switches for 3 bucks, and if it works I might send some out to other people who would want to do the same thing.

spektrum or any dsm system so you can run the Antenna inside the body.
the aerials can be as short as 3.6inches without a loss in range

update 12/21/08 -
12.22.2008, 12:21 AM
Let this be a lesson to all: if ben invites you to bash at his house, SAY NO! his house is haunted by the bash from hell. every time we try to get a bash there, something of my rc breaks. 1st it was big cracks in the body. then a 40mm fan, then the spur gear, and now my transmitter! at least i was able to get a few minutes of water-sealed bashing in... cant wait for my dx3.0 to come so i can run again!

My reed switches came in today!!! so I got everything wired up so I can now turn on my mamba max with just a magnet(that will be glued to the inside of the body) I have the switch still wired inline with the reed switch so I could test with no body on still, but still have the convenience of turning on as soon as u place the body on!

^the wiring diagram that lets me choose weather to use the reed switch or not... not shown is the pwm conectors so i can disconnect the reed if i need to^

^my wiring to the switch that lets me use either the reed switch or the manual switch^

^My detachable reed switch^

^video of it all working!^

good question... im not sure yet seeing that i dont have a transmitter! Ive been using a fairley strong magnet(can hold paperclips through my cheek and earlobe) and it must be about a half inch away! by the way my body is almost done! 2 more coats of white and then its complete!

2. 3 layers of spaz stix gold to green chameleon paint
4. 3 layers of flourescent green
5. 3 layers of flourescent yellow
6. 3 layers of opaque white
dont look too bad for my first body job...

dont look half bad mike!
I would cut a small hole in the windshield for a little airflow inside the body
