I knew the rcm mount had a spacer and could probably run a bigger spur than the 45-46t everyone else is running. Thanks brushlessboy16, I'm sure the new mount will be the same, now I know what I'm going to have to do when the new mounts are availible. I'm not too keen on cutting up the stock chassis for the 50t. But since the mount isn't availible yet I do have time to make a carbon fiber chassis...

BB16 is correct. The current mount has about a 4mm spacer for the other side of the center diff to space it up. I am running a 45T spur and there's plenty of air under it. Wish I could get one a little lower since it puts the center shafts and a pretty strong angle. If I could make one request it would be make an 8ight mount that fit up to a 46T and then a T mount that could fit the bigger stuff. Like BB said, the front center shaft is dangerously close to the radio box.

I like the delrin spacer idea, but I only plan to use 1 battery type with my losi, so I'd just as soon pay the extra 5 bucks for a custom size that moves it towards the center and lets me move the battery fore and aft. I just wish they'd get here so I could confirm the case size. I may measure a 2S version of my pack to get it dimensioned. TPs website lists the 2s, 3s and 4s as identical W and L but with different heights. I know where there is a 2s available. I'd just like to get the mechanicals and electricals squared away now so I'm good to go when the batteries get here. I'm still waiting anxiously for the new 4mm mounts. I'll be getting one of those too... and hybrid revo diffs if they ever come available again. Can't blame Mike too much, though. He's just one man. If he could turn stuff out the moment we wanted it, he'd need 36 hour days.

I had to shave mine with the T. But the angle isnt that bad compared to stock...

I know, but I want to SLAM IT! Lol. It still beats the stock mount. I'm just putting out my dreams. I just want to get my buggy in the dirt! This waiting for stuff has been driving me nuts. Batteries are mostly at fault.

I ordered my battery tray today. Looking forward to permanently mounting the electronics and getting the buggy a little closer to running.

What about making the motor mount the same height as the stock mount, but including 2 spacers to be used optionally when needed(or offering them separately)? This would allow those using a smaller spur gear to 'ride low', but won't alienate the guy using the stock spur. I haven't started cutting the new style mounts yet, so now would be a good time to clear the air of any suggestions or 'wish lists' regarding the new mount. I was also thinking to add the chassis brace like the one for the Ten T, which would cover the spur gear slot on the stock chassis.

Got my battery tray yesterday. I love it. I think my fiancee thought I was crazy because after a 12 hour work day I came home, opened a box and sat down at my work bench. Battery strap seems like it would definitely be too short and I would have liked a second channel for a second strap, but I used one of my Losi straps, have 2 left as spares and so the short strap problem went away. Love the brass inserts. mine were TIGHT on the screws, but everything went together well. Looks good on the chassis. Can't wait to bolt down my ESC. Then I just need to do some soldering and await battery day, she's a done deal. I also love that this tray is a little stiffer than the Losi one and supports the underside of the ESC tray. Kudos, Mike.

You only need 1 stap. 3 straps is overkill. you would be suprized as to how much of a load that single strap can support without pulling apart

Oh I wasn't worried about the strap coming apart. I was more concerned about securing the battery in the rear position.

The brass inserts will expand into the plastic the first time you thread into them - they won't be so tight on subsequent installations. A single strap is plenty strong to hold the battery and makes swaps easier as well(this is a big plus if you race with nitro guys in longer mains).
I usually send a 10" strap - should I make 11" the standard size?

The Hyperion G3 6S measures 10.16 itself, so I'd go 12". Trimming them is easier IMHO, than ordering and finding out that they are too damn short.

BTW, I've also found that the above battery (in addition to my Neu 5S, and my "old" Zippy 6S) falls into the "custom" battery tray department.....

I need to fab a quicky custom tray today for the Muggy (I'm taking it on its first runs this weekend). Mike - what is the step up dimension you use where the tray goes up over the mud guards?

The straps really can't be trimmed much(you would be trimming the "sticky" part). An 11" strap should work for all but the beefiest packs(someone wishing for longer straps can request them, as we have 8", 10", 11", 12" and 16" straps available). We also sell the straps in pairs for those using their own solution but needing straps, or those unsure of what size they need. :)

I figured that out tonight. I ended up making some extensions using some double side velcro. Kind of pain to deal with, but it will get me by until I can get it all straightened out. BTW, solved the battery tray width issue by cutting one side of it off.
