Enough with buying battery's from ebay. You do not know what you will get, like said earlier the seller can praise them into heaven about power and safety, but when you run them they suck. Don't risk it and do it right the first time, your spending a huge load of money on the controller and motor anyway, so it needs good cell's. Not ebay junk IMHO.

Mike has added some lipo batt's I saw.

http://www.rc-monster.com/batteries.php

Apache 5s 18.5v 3700mah LiPo Battery Pack

This will work quite well. 2 of them in serie's for voltage or 2 of them in parralel for double the mah, but at 18,5 volt. Your choice. You do need a good lipo charger for it obviously.

I seriously wouldn't want to waste my money trying to find el cheapo batt's, cause surprise! your truck will not run very good, if at all.

There are two so it is like a 4s 8000 mah pack. I could get 2 of those listings and get another 2s 8000 from their main website. At maxamps, two 8000 2s packs are $260 total. Could I just use 4000 mah packs? Where can I get lipos for less than maxamps.co or rc-monster.com if ebay is bad?

Dude how many time's do we need to say this;

CHEAP CELL'S SUCK FOR BRUSHLESS

Especially if you got a 400$ motor and controller. You do NOT want bargain battery's and come back complaining the set-up doesn't perform like it should. Well duh, the motor you picked needs good battery's to perform good.

Unless ofcourse you want to smoke the lipo's cause it can't deliver the amp's the 2250 want's.

I'm not going to say this again, so be warned if you do pick up cheap cell's.

Okay, fine. No Cheap cells. Now, can the BK 36120 handle 11s lipo and a lehner 2250 14 turn (lower amp draw, longer run time) or should I stick with 10s lipo and a 2250 13 turn (Higher amp draw, shorter run time).

Should Lipo cells be counted at 3.7 volts or 4.2 volts when calculating maxx cell count for the esc?

How good are PolyQuest lipo cells?

I think polyquest are good cells, I have Hyperion 3700s I believe they are the same, I think the bk 36120 would be fine, I am not sure on what turn would be better, I use 3.7 to calculate. I am sure others would disagree but I would also think about the 40 cell schultz controler if you have a place to mount it, it has a higher rpm and amp limit, and if you ever get really crazy 13s lipo would be an option.

I think a 2240 on 8s with an MGM 16024 would be a better choice,i can't think of many places where you can actually lay down more power than that.Up and down a wide road in straight lines maybe.
The schulze 32.170W would be the best controller for 10s IMO and should run smoothly virtually any motor you can think of.It's quite large though. The 40.160 is water cooled only i think,i'm not sure how that works,it'd be cool if it had a little radiator you could mount up front.

I am not worried about the motor as much as the rest of the truck.
I am surprised I didn't twist a cvd or something up like a pretzel. :D
imagine what it would of been like if you had lipo under the hood :017:

Man, this is gonna be one CRAZY setup, today i expericened "real" bl power, even just a little 10l on 16 cells can "burn" you away.

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

Yeah, sylvester, for bashing 16 cells already is more than enough.

that is a matter of opinion rene. Some of use think different. :D
I may get to try my motor out on 8s lipo.
I may see about building me another truck for it. Don't know what to expect except some serious power and breakage.

Peace!

Agreed, that is the exact setup I have and I think it will be a good compromise between insanity and the laws of physics. BTW I hope to have my truck running next week, I need to finish my motor mount and wire it up and it will be ready.
