Good old 1.24 always works perfectly no matter what ( not the smoothest start ups from zero rpms but it's damn rock solid firmware with no bugs ), does sound like either a radio issue or the esc is borked some other way...
I'm thinking Castle & HPI need a disclaimer on their sites warning about updating the firmware on HPI escs.
its not the radio...I tried 2 different radios and had the same problems..
the car drive train is fine.
I tried to use anther servo and still had same problems...
its the ESC for sure...
Patrick ? what can I do now ? what may be the problem ? how can I fix it ?
thank you !
The castle crew are not very active on the forums. While they do make occasional appearances, depending on this forum for dedicated castle support could take awhile.
My guess is you got lucky last time, and caught him at the right time.
Just PM your info = There is not going to be a software fix for your issue.
+1
Castle is willing to send you a new controller, even though you have a HPI branded product. What more can you ask for?!
With the Castle product you will be able to flash your controller with every firmware to your hearts content.
We have released a new version of Castle Link software (3.53.11) that should allow you to roll the firmware version back to the original 1.24. Have you tried downloading the latest Castle Link software and rolling the firmware back to see if it works on the original firmware? Pat is still sending out the new ESC, I am just curious if rolling it back to 1.24 gets the ESC working.
Patience is a virtue; you're getting a new esc, for free, after borking your current one, and it's not even from the same company at that- be grateful & wait for it to arrive rather than hassling them for updates. 7-14 days is pretty standard for international postage, though don't be too surprised if your countries customs office intercepts it due to value...
