If it helps I need to dig a trench 3ft deep and 30ft long and bury $150 worth of wire to get electric to it. Actually haven't touched the Camaro in a year since I bought the house. Hopefully I'll get enough done on the house this year that I can spend some time in the garage over the winter.

The camaro looks like a fun project. My wife wants me to find her a 68. And if the house looks anything like the garage you must have a lot of renovation to do. Is it just the picture or is your new garage leaning to the left looking like it may fall down at any moment? It's always nice to have your own garage but that looks a little unsettling to me. Nice work on the car.

Rent a mini backhoe. I had to do a similar thing about 3yrs ago and the 300 bucks I paid for the day rental was well worth it. Got the job done in an hour or so. Most places will rent you equipment on a sat morning and come get it on mon morning. As long as you only put 8hr or less run time on the machine you will only pay for 1 day.

That's the plan, no way I'm digging it all by hand! Going to run a water line (plastic Pex) and maybe some cat5 in the same hole just in case I want it in the future.

You can sleep in a car, but you can't race a house

Why not lay a gas line and water line for heat and water

We are doing that to my friends garage, already has electricity, but we are running a gas line for a natural gas heater we are building into the walls, as well as water for a very small water heater and slop sink.

Wow the pic makes the garage door opening look weird on both sides, left is more noticeable. Garage is worse than the house, but it's not leaning, just needs electric, paint and new roofing shingles in a few years.

I have oil heat in my house and can get an oil fired heater for the garage for next to nothing. No need to run a line from the house for that, a 55 gallon drum behind the garage would feed it. I am running a water line out there just in case I decide to put in a small slop sink. If I do there are small electric hot water heaters (1 or 2 gallon tank) and fit under the sink that would be perfect.

My daily driver is a '96 Nissan Maxima. It isn't a sports car, but does OK with its 6 cylinder motor and 5 speed transmission. My "toy hauler" is a '97 Ford E150 van - much like Harold's but in white. Basically a big box that fits lots of RC, a couple dirt bikes, or a quad for my weekend fun time. :)
