Very cool! I'll do it! Be sure to check my thread at the end of next week to see how things are going! HEHE. Your truck looks great as always BTW!! Although I've thought for a long time that I'd never feel comfortable jumping with that drag bar. You can't be jumping much with it.
Hmmm...I think I have a great idea to brace/strengthen the X-Braces (carbon-fiber, of course), and it will look awesome as well as be super-lightweight!

Cheers guys. Im all for improved X-brace strength, I think I've gotten some good ideas from this place recently. On the rx front- I know, crazy isnt it? Since 2.4ghz is 2.4ghz regardless of whether its for air or ground use ( no frequency/ legal issues to worry about ) it might well be worth guys looking into the airplane specific rxs for use with their car txs- dunno if they will be compitible but it shouldnt be hard to check.
I have the rx and sleeving so far, just waiting on the shrink & servo- tomorrow probably ( which is handy since its my day off ).
Please tell me more about the improved x-braces, because I see bent braces in my near future as well...
As for the rx, they really are a lot cheaper, NIB from a regular shop at least.
My last SR3100 "like new" from ebay.com cost me only about half of what it regularly costs here.
But as for compatibility, not so sure about it.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if spektrum put some kind of software barrier on their systems to prevent that. Maybe we/I should just as Spektrum about that.
Been kinda hecktic at work lately, working alot of extra hours due to other staff being off sick ( kidney stones, ouch ) + nearing the end of term when its always busier, so didnt get around to installing & photographing the last round of upgrades. Until now...
A few randoms aswell- just incase you couldnt tell I made myself an awesome lightbox... using 3 old white bath towels , then played with the exposure times to get a near-perfect white background, very little re-touching required. Turned out beautifully, though I think I will invest 5 squid and buy a large white bedsheet to get a smoother/ larger background for the more extreme angles. I also have some days off now so I can test that steering servo out, see if its a worthy upgrade to the dual 645mgs I've ran for so long...
( Best viewed @ 480p & in full screen- turn the sound up too )
I was planning on testing my tamiya madbull but alas, the crummy AM radio and flakey nimh pack werent playing ball; so I broke the G out instead. The run ended early because the slipper nut backed itself off, but the servo is a little beast for ~$75 ( 20KG @ 6v ), hoping to test it on grass if the weather holds out for a few more days.
looks great Neil..well done. Love the low sleek look. With the low cog it must handle quite well
