Thanks Alien. I am excited to try it out and enjoy it.

I don't know where else to put it. It is a huge battery. lol Yeah I'm thinking it should provide for a good balance remember the monoblock.

I really like what you made out of that truck!
But I too have problems imagining that the balance would be too great with the battery so far off center.
The mono block isn't going to help with that.
I would flip the diff arround, put the ESC behind the motor and place the battery on the side where the motor is at the moment.

But then: I haven't seen your truck in action nor have I driven it, so I have no idea if the handling actually is influenced in a bad way by that weight distribution.

I would have to agree only because it looks as though your diff is barely offset to on side. That is the way my 8ight is setup and I think the balance is pretty good...

But it looks Great! I love that chassis! I really wanted to go that route with my maxx... Got a side shot? I bet the body sits LOOOW with those Towers!

Oh man! I can't wait to get some video! Tomorrow perhaps. She is bad fast! I mounted the body by cutting slots in the body near(above) the Duh towers and ran Velcro straps through the slots. It works great! And no more clips! Now I just wish I would have done it this way to begin with.

I ran the truck for about 15 mins today and it couldn't have gone much better. Everything works great and the truck turns on a dime. I couldn't make it flip despite every effort. So the battery tray location has no negative effects so far on handling. It will be 3 weeks before I am able to test it mid air. I'll have new springs at that point.

Sounds good indeed, can't wait for the video.
Were did you get the Duh towers? Are they still available somewhere?
I could really use a set of lower shock towers.

And what axles and diff outdrives do you use?

I don't really have a way to check. Probably12.5 pounds. Somewhere between 12 and 13.

Thanks guys! I got the towers from user and community member Rivermaxx. Great guy. Has ran some good trucks. No they haven't been made in years and are hard to come by. Funny thing though. When I bought mine there was a set on Ebay. First set I've seen on the bay. I have wanted some for a whole year before I had the opportunity. Thanks River. They do rock yeah. There are some other short towers. Duh, Nova, GMaxx and one other... Can't remember. Why do you want a set?

I am using UE outdrives with TRX shafts. Great combination. Just watch how high you jack the truck especially with RPM TrueTrac. If the dog bone end comes out and can't get back in bad things happen while in motion.

Speaking of bad. I have a problem. I was having a jolly good run today when I got the RX where caught in the center diff. I ran into a very far away curb that I thought I could jump and in a rare event the RX wire got caught up in the diff and pulled apart. I'm away at school(and stink at soldering) can I just put the wires strands back together according to color, tape it up and be gentile until I can get my electrician on it around Thanksgiving? Please say yes.

Cool. River tell me what you think of the truck.

He built some great trucks indeed. I took a good look at his Silverback build while I was getting my G3 done.
And off course the whole 100MPH story made for some excellent reading

I want the lower shock towers to get the body lower on the truck, would go with shorter shocks off course.

Sorry, but what kind of outdrives are the ones from UE?
Are they regular diff outdrives?
Or are they a combination of outdrife shafts and some sort of drive cups?
I'm wondering, because I've read several times that the traxxas shafts would be too short for use with the regular 1/8 diff outdrives.
But no truetrac for me, still have my flextek arms

This is the first time I have used this battery extensively. The battery just took 6600mah!! It took 2 hours to get there and is at 16.8 volts. Its sick! The battery is a 6500 G3 35c Hyperion. Its crazy!

I fixed the RX wires with tape. lol Temporary.
The truck is so fast and controllable.
I have noticed that when I really get on it while turning away from the battery side the truck gets less turn. So it does have some effect while on the ground.

That is all,
Zack

Balance Charged? Could be why it took more mah and 2 hours to charge...

What kind of TX you have? Just set endpoints a bit higher to the shorter throw side....

I just thought about this I'm having to charge at like 1/2C. Thats why it takes so long.

A video isn't far off. I ran 6600mah out today. Zero Hiccups. I Alot of fun. I have the best places to run. Its like an RC Paradise. Lots of wide open 45MPH runs. The highest temperature I recorded was 139F on the motor. The ESC never got higher than 89F. The battery topped at 86F. My servo hit 84F though.

I've never been happier with the truck. I've put alot of work into it.

Yeah but I'm not complaining. I was actually pleased. Hyperion batteries are beast. This is the first battery I have ever had to take over the labeled mah.

Its not like that. The weight of the battery is what is causing it. It turns great at all speeds but you can tell it takes alittle longer for the whole truck to change direction because the battery on the one side when going really fast. I may not be making any sense. It really is a mute issue the problem may pronounce its self while in flight though. We'll see.

Yeah. I hope you find some.

I'm using the UE outdrives that are attached inside the diff. Its the small cup 6mm instead of 8mm I think. It fits the Trx shafts no like a glove. What I explained to you is correct. People say it doesn't work because they jack it up and it bends. You get plenty of travel still just be careful. Nice, Flextek.
