Other controllers have no problem with motors from 2, 4 and 6 poles. The MM worked great with my Align 600L motor and someone is even using a Quark 80with a Align 600XL. To me it seems like a good excuse to go with. Not everyone has the money to buy a Neu motor and they stick with a Feigao for the price. I use feigaos as well and haven't had problems with them.

He said they'd like to sell the controller now by itself, but they'd have to find a strategic way to require that you only use Neu motors until they come out with their own. They were even going to have Neu build their motors, but they'd never be able to keep up with demand.

They want to keep up their good warranty reputation, but they don't want to support people using their controller with crappy motors, then having the crappy motors seize up and fry the controller.

Interesting stuff ...
Honestly they been saying that for two years (since before the MM officially came out) they seem to think we are morons and don't know what we are doing. Well we do overdrive the MM a wee bit hehehe.

There is a company in Germany that has this big controllers and they have one in a 5th scale truck with one of those big LRK outrunners going up 45 and 50 degrees ramp with no problem. Actually one problem the price of the controller is up there LOL.

Here are the prices:

110A cont., 10S lipo Max: EUR 599
220A cont., 10S lipo Max: EUR 729
100A cont., 14S lipo Max: EUR 659
200A cont., 14S lipo Max: EUR 799

It might be worth it, seing how it was delivering the power to a 17.5kg 5th scale truck. How many Brushless vehicles right now with the controllers normally used can climb at 45 to 55 degrees from a stop?

Serum, you entered a 20.4v of the batt's voltage...
Don't you think that's way low?

I think the voltage should have been something like 25.2v. Right?

That is pretty good being sensorless! I bet any of today's ESCs could do that given the right software though...

@alawi;

3.4V is rather normal, but since you use flightpowers you might use 3.5 in your calculations. The 4.2 you use is at no load. At full speed the voltage will be~ 3.4-3.5V per cell.

In legal terms, it's probably not "false advetisement" - more like "delayed advertisement". I don't recall any official word that it would be out on any definite and specific date. It's just bad marketing IMO because it just gets people mad, but whatever. People will just vote with their wallets and go elsewhere.

Very true Brian. I would be voting with my wallet right now if I could get the MGM here. Unfortunately my last 3 inquiries to Mike about when they'll be available are not being answered. He must be VERY busy. Anyway, I hope the MGM will be available soon.
