Looks good. I got my brake spacer from Mike on Thursday. I installed it over the weekend, but havent had a chance to post the pictures up. I'll do it tonight. It works just as planned.
Which brake spacer????? Can't find it on Mike store..
Brake spacer or Neu front bell cover????
David,
They arent in the store yet. I asked mike to make up a special one for me and he put his touches on it and I think he is going to add it to the store soon.
Here are a couple pictures of it and pictures of it installed on my buggy. Works perfect for me.
I installed it on a Neu at first, then I changed my mind and used a Lehner so thats why different motors in the pictures.
If you send Mike a note I'm sure he made a few extras.
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
With the Neu motors there is no problem at all, they have unusually long shafts. The Lehners and Feigaos are starting to get to the end of the shaft, but its no problem. The shaft on my 1940 doesn't quite stick out the other side of the pinion gear, but it in there plenty that there should be no problem.

I have the CD flipped around cuz I was running the Tekno CLutch in that buggy. I actually just got done flipping it back around to get rid of the clutch and reinstalling the mechanincal brake servos and linkage. Heres a picture on it finished and the dif flipped back around the right way.

jhautz, that is a sweet setup. Looks like the spacer will work out ok. I am glad this post generated interest and lead to another cool RC-Monster brushless option for those that want to run mech brakes.
well i broke my servo case today, dont know if its from the minor flex in the way it was mounted or if it was from the fixed object i hit, but i will using a plate on the bottem of servo for a flat surface secured thru the bottem of the chassis and screwed into axial stand-offs and then mounting the servo to them on the top side, should be more secure and rigid
i added rear brake only and am using mixing with electric brake . tested it last night and it works great.
with the long brake arm I have tons of leverage.
so far I tried 30 percent in the MM seems good.
when I enter a turn and tap the brake the rear comes around . turn off the rear brake and doing the same thing it pushes to the outside of the turn.
the cool thing is I can turn on and off the third channel while Im racing depending on track .
have you used this spacer with a finned can?? will it fit... i dont think there would be any trouble with it but would like to be 100% on it before i order my neu...
No, I havent. But I dont see why it woudnt work. If it will work without mechanical brakes, it should work with this spacer and mechanical brakes. The only reason it wouldnt is if the fins hit something on the chassis or the chassis brace or something, but then it would hit without the spcaer too. Id say your safe.

I was out for some practice when I noticed I suddenly had no brakes. Checked the buggy and found the horn had sheared off the servo. Hitec Karbonite gear broke in half.
