**Here he comes to save the dayyyyy**

On 5s lipo, with Proline MT badlands (best guess) and 17/40 gearing, you would get 43.6mph.

Thats not too bad, but I would stick to 35-40mph at most with any feigao/spinning toaster of death type motor. For 5s lipo, I'd go for a 9 or 10XL if you havent already bought the motor yet.

Yeah, and LPR tires barely balloon at all, 1/4" max. You should be good with a 17t.

Wow, I think the feigao will have a hard time keeping up. Look into a medusa 70mm when you get the cash.

ok guys I need some help. I have it running and its a beast! but I have stripped 4spurs in two days. I dont know why, the mesh is correct, they are the same pitch(mod1), and the slipper is good also. I think I am going to buy the robinson racing 39t steel spur. I have the RCM hardend steel pinion so I should be good right? It says "can be used with metal spur gears"? I just dont want to screw up the $25 spur if its not hardened. so my question is will it wear or am I good to go?

You shouldnt be stripping spurs like that- are they worn down evenly all the way around, or are they just 'flat' in certain spots, or chipping teeth etc?

RR steel spur should be an improvement, but only RR can tell you if its hardend or just plain steel- the RCM pinion will eat it alive in next to no-time at all otherwise, seen it happen a few times with some brands of metal spurs...

They are worn down evenly...I think I am going to get the emaxx tranny and do the conversion, I have heard good things....also then I can use 32p gears so pinions are a little cheaper and so is the spur gear. Thanks for the help neil

RR Steel gears should be hardened, and there hardened stuff is bullet-proof.

I ran an E-Maxx tranny on my conversion, it fits well with a little modification (dye grinder worked wonders on it). If you're looking for battery trays, I ran a pair of the New Era trays on mine with some velcro cynch straps and they worked out really well.

Sooner or later you'll toast a diff (probably rear first) so save your pennies for a pair of RC-M hybrid diffs.

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

IMO if you are stripping spurs you have a problem somewhere else and using a steel spur for that is just a temporary band-aid. You might be getting some flexing of the chassis at the motor area when you go WOT. When the chassis flexs the spur/pinion can come out of alignment. Traxxas does sell a chassis brace for this

I hate to say it, but it could be your motor mount flexing. Can you make it bend at all with your hand?
