Believe it or not, I want one (I love the movies). I have checked around but I can't find one. I'd like a matching body for the R/C as well.

Question: -

Does anybody know for sure if a Neu motor fits the Rustler transmission without clearance issues? I'd rather not have to buy one to find out.
I'm thinking a 1515/2y/s instead of the 12XL.

I believe the Candyman had the Plett bigmaxximum in his rustler once- he had to trim away the plastic protecting the motor due to its diameter. Since you have the FLM tranny though there is nothing surrounding the motor, so the Neu should in theory bolt right up. More useful pics can be found HERE (scroll down a little).

Just make sure the motor has 1/8" shaft. Unless you know where to buy 48 pitch pinions that fit 5mm shafts. If you do then I'd like to know about them.

Hes using mod 1 pinons and revo spurs I believe.
The only problem with using a neu (or any other larger diameter motor can) with the smaller revo spurs is going to be gearing it low enough. I would switch over to 32p Jato spurs if you dont already have too much invested in mod 1 pinions, you can get those a little bigger. I adapted a 44t mod1 RS4 single speed spur to the traxxas slipper without too much hassle, that could help as well. Ive also heard that there are bigger MGT spurs that can fit the traxxas slipper.

The problem is that I need to gear "high" to get any reasonable speed out of a high-wind motor because I have 3" tires on the truck. We're talking close to a 2:1 pinion/spur ratio. Yes, I do have M1 Revo spur gears with the Revo slipper. I have M1 14, 16, 18T pinions, and 40, 38, 36T spurs.
Why so high you say? I want around 35K max unloaded rpm on the motor with 8s lipo to make it efficient. With standard Rustler gear ratios, say 19/87, that's less than 40 mph with 3" tires. I want the small tires to keep ground clearance to a minimum. I don't mind donuts, but I don't like rolls.

I working on some foam tires for my rustler. They are 3.5" tall and have 2 types of foams as well. Still need to glue them and see what they can do.

Those look pretty sick, man. What are you using for the foams?

I bought the foams online. Those are the cheapo ones..10bucks a pair. I have the 20 dollar silver compound as well. I still need to work on some new rims with the outer lips intact still. I'm still seeking a manufacturer for the foams.
But I got them here.

How exactly do you go about gluing foams? I mean, is there a proper way?
Is that a stock Traxxas spur I see in your above picture, and is it bolted to a Revo slipper?!??!
Also, good idea using the Rustler bumper as a liner for your wheelie bar. Less friction and the Al wont wear out.

The glue part is what I'm still trying to master. There are so many glues available and I'm still finding out what will work and what won't. But so far I have used 3M #77 and it worked great on the foams. My drill press is working overtime cutting up old rims. So far the tires don't balloon at all, freewheeling at max unloaded speeds. 180 Grit sandpaper is what I use for creating a rounded edge and flat contact surface.
The spur is connected to a traxxas adapter, which eliminate the slipper all together. #3693 is the traxxas partnumber.
That bumper/skid mod works out great for me. I don't worry about breaking little wheels at high speed tumbles. That plastic bumper is cheaper then a set of wheels and bearings.

just a quick question about you searching for foam setups. have you thought about using the new era 1/8 buggy hex (17mm) conversion so you can use buggy wheels? i know you will lose i little tire width, but the foam tire/wheels combos are very easy to get.

Oh I looked into those as well. The buggie wheels will just look silly in my opinion, but all that extra weight in adapters would not work out well for dragracing. It might look ok with the extended rustler chassis, hooked up to a XL motor.

Forget everything I said above about all the new setups I was going to use. I have come to a conclusion.
MGM 16024 on 6s LiPo running a _________. Any guesses?
I'll give you some clues: I just bought it on eBay not 10 minutes ago, it cost $89 shipped, and this is the last time I'll change my mind - period .

I don't know but I'm sure it's going to be fast. Nice work swapping the motor to the inside. I don't understand why they don't make them like that to start with.
