To calarify to anyone who read that the 45mm motor that feigao are buidling is the mmm that is not true.

The motor is a propietry feigaio motor.

As far as I know from feigao and cc there is no connection between the companies.

I know who is making the MMM motors, but I can't tell you guys. :D The two pole Castle motors will also be made by a different factory in the future as well.

Sneaky

Do you know if the cc 36 motors will be of better quality/design?

The design will stay the same. The Quality may go up, it may not change. They are trying to bump the efficiencies up a few points though. Until production units are made no real predictions can be made really.

Hey, I already said I didnt want to start anything with anyone. I just have a personal opinion that happens to be a little diff than your opinions. Hey, linc could you snap a few pics of the diameter difference of the two motors. The seem to have the same rotor length about but from what I hear and from what Ive seen the rotor on the velineon is a little wider. Thanks.

Paralyzed, funny, I had a guy roll over my foot once in a wheelchair, and he was no lightweight. It almost broke my toes! My fault as I was in his way!

No need to find takedown, he just has a differnt opinion.

My main issue is that I can't stand arguments that have no factual basis. I am sure that the traxxas motor is great when you compare it to any brushed 540 sized motor. I had a feigao 6s 540, and it took an emaxx to 65mph on 3s. It also almost puffed a maxamps 10000 3s and would overdraw a MM easily. It did not get very hot, but had about 2mins max run out of it before everything else heated up.

The thing is that the traxxas setup is great in its intended application. It is also priced well, and will get people into brushless. It will run acceptably on nimh cells, and offers simple, easy to use features. However, I just see it as a small motor, coupled with an esc that offers no programability, with a 3s max input.

It is a great beginner system, that is about it. I am a traxxas fan myself, have at least 12 traxxas vehicles at the moment. However they are new to brushless, and the esc cannot compare with the mm. My tests were not overly thorough, but I decided that the lack of programability was enough to move away from it. The poor performance, heat and runtime just showed up its other faults.

The motor is like any other s can feigao, capable of making alot of power, but will draw alot if loaded heavily. It will also heat up, due to design and material usage. It is not a smoking deal, as you can get a vaiety of s can feigao winds for 50 bucks. One of those motors and a mm come very close to the price of the vxl system and and offer much more to the end user. Please try to debate that last sentence with me.

I do not have any s can motors at the moment. The vxl rotor is the same length as a s can. The windings are shorter to allow the solder plate to be fitted. This may cause the motor to produce less power than the feigao, much like the cc motors do (they have less wire and shorter rotors).

Now this will really add some fuel to the fire. A sv27 motor is the same length as a feigao s can, has 6 poles and a 5mm shaft. It can pull an emaxx to 35mph. It can also pull a 4wd smaller vehicle like a crt.5, or a Ls10 to 40mph or more. Now in a pede on 4s it would easily be capable of waxing the velineon motor. It has tons of torque. I may have to throw it in my vxl pede roller that I just acquired and see how it does!

Hey linc did you get my pm? I have to say that the VXL when i ran it on the same setups always ran cooler than the mamba. But this is just my experience. I am looking to hit 60mph this summer with my rustler and I sorta need your help. I am running a 5s Flightpower 30c lipo setup and I need to know if a Feigao 8xl will propel me towards 60mph and beyond with proper gearing? I know its going to be very hard to keep on the ground but that doesnt worry me. Im just trying to surpas my old speed record which is 52mph set with a brushless MI2. You think it can be done?

takedown- it's just jokes, i'm a joker, that's why I had the smilie. This forum is real friendly compared to most, we just all prefer tested facts over an opinion of something someone isn't familiar with, after all, r/c takes up alot of all our lives, and we all learn from one another. And arguing with Linc is like wrestling with a pig, after awhile, you realize the pig enjoys it no offense Linc, just bustin' your chops!

Ya I guess... It just to me it seems like everyone looks down apon me like a newb. Ive been in r/c the majority of my life and I dont know if you guys have noticed but when my opinion is opposed I take it seriously. I just dont like it when people on here treat me like I just got into r/c and im 8 years old or something, It really reflects what the rest of the forum will be like. Thankfully I havent given up on this one because their are some forums out their were all the top dogs hate every new member no matter the experience I dont know why but Im the kinda guy who always likes to end up on top and will not give up until I get their. Sorry if Ive been such a snot to some of you guys but thats just how I am.

takedown- although I just bought an flm rustler tranny to fit a 540c 8xl on my rustler, It's total overkill, and too much power for the drivetrain. An s can geared tall will do 70 on 3s, but run hot. An l can is overkill, but will easily power you to 70 on 5s, as you intend to run. Get the l can that will turn 35,000 rpm on 5s, and use BrianG's speed calculator to gear for whatever speed you want, although you'll need a better speed control for 5s.............speed calculator is the first sticky in the brushless forum
