kt and kv are inversely proportional, so when kv decreases kt increases.

We need sensored outrunners! I want CC to make a killer brushless crawler setup with a sensored outrunner and an matching esc with a built in switching bec that can handle 4s lipo. Had to throw that in, since it seems like Patrick is watching...

CC won't build a sensored ESC or motor though, Patrick has said that a few times. It would make for an awesome crawler, but someone else will have to do it
All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

I think Holmes Hobbies is preparing sensored outrunner for sale right now.

yes, his qoute was something to effect of
"we wont build a sensored motor because they are based on an inferior design" IIRC

I spoke with a few companies that might make me some 4 or 6 pole inrunners with sensors. Only time will tell though.

Yes, but a 4 or 6 pole motor will have a higher Kt than a similar 2 pole with the same Kv.

IIRC Patrick then said he was actually building a sensored controller as the market still wanted one...

is there anyway to add a sensor kit to a motor??? i know its odd but imagine hollow spacer on the front of a motor, and an optical or some other type of sensor inside.. a sleve or magnetic ring on the motor shaft.. would definately be cool

That's what I remember. I think he said he they were going to include a sensor port mainly for rock crawling on any sensored outrunners that might be released, just to help highly loaded startups.

Did someone say outrunner? LOL
I for one can testify to the torque of the outrunner. In the experimental direct drive setups that I have built, a 12 pole outrunner with a low (600kv to 1000kv) has enough torque to shatter diffs and even bearings. I'm talking acceleration, not shock from jumping. They can also easily pull gearing that 2 pole motors will smoke over.
When considering torque, think about how many rotational degrees each phase shift is required to turn the armature, often times with close to the same amount of magnetic strength as a 2 pole.
Armature Diameter has a huge impact on torque. It's just a matter of leverage or distance from the magnetic force to the rotational center.

So Can I buy the Black CC NEU? Or is it going to be a combo only with the BL e revo?
I dont like the green motor, the black looks alot better IMO.
