It's best to update it. The update only affects the software on the computer, the software on the Mamba Max is independent of the computer except when new settings are downloaded to it.

Thank you Metalman, will update and will report on how the mamba runs. This is my first experience with an unsensored system, so expect a big reaction
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

Something you might want to play around with is low-speed driving. The Mamba Max will actually try to not cog by lowering the frequency when the motor spins slow enough. The only way I can get it to cog is by physicaly holding the tires with low throttle.

Thats the size i need :018:
Just run it for the first time and i'm impressed, it is smoother than an ss5800 with more power. I'm going to the track today to run it and maybe play with the computer settings.
I may do a review when i get more familar with it and learn how to tune for more performance
All in all i am impressed with the system, its easy to start, easy to program and you get so much for the money, that unless you want more voltage its not necessary to get any other esc or motor.
BTW Metalman i got it to cog when running in reverse and went foreward by accident only cogged a split second then run like it never cogged.

Yeah, I got it to cog the same way. I just did a run with reverse enabled. But when racing, this isn't an issue since reverse is disabled anyways.

I went to the track today to test and i still am impressed, its like having a hemi in a dart with the throttle control of a vette.
My temps at the track, nonstop racing conditions:
esc 164*
motor 167*
battery 164*
Am i running too hot or just right, outside temp is upper 90's, gearing is 20/87with standard ST 2.2" tires

The motor and esc are ok. The batteries are too hot.

Is Mike going to add the new CC stuff to the site? I realize there is a shortage right now (according to CC). If he will carry it at some point, I'll wait to buy it (as long as it's not too long :)), but if if not, I'll get it from somewhere else...

RC-Monster.com will indeed carry the Mamba Max line of products from Castle Creations. It's just a matter of receiving the products before listing them on the site.
I do not have a timeframe for this, but Mike may.

the track owner here says so long as they don't go 70* above ambient i'll be fine(near 100 that day) but i'm going to go to a lower gear and see if it helps
