Yeah, they make nice devices for sure! their bec isn's quite strong enough thoug.. Too bad imo..

The BEC from TrueRC is pretty cheap..it's only $12, I ordered 3 of them, and they're not too shabby....

Yeah, i have a few of those. They are nice, and powerfull enough. they have got a very small footprint.

Serum, look at this. It is the one I was refering to... The BEC isn't up to the task in a car though...
And on the note of the BPP trucks, they have a few parts to make a few, and they can make some more, but there not going into production because of cost, and yada yada. Nick, I kept it quiet so I could actually afford it :p. I actually had to sell my LSP for it :frown:... |

That explains.. that smartbec is too light indeed, 5V and 1.5A peak..

Most MT's would need more like 2.5-3 amps continuous and preferably 6V.

Yeah, 6V makes the servo's work much better. I had my bec on 5V by accident, and it was turning my servo's relative s l o w

Yea...I'm still contemplating on whether or not I should go for the Cellshield or the Liposhield...the Liposhield is pretty small...but the Cellshield has a optional temp probe...BIG PLUS! But it has to be hooked up via the taps...I don't like that....But...the Cellshield can be removed REALLY easy since theres not soldering...Hell...I think I just talked myself into the Cellshield...

yeah I here ya. I have the old UBec and it only pumps out 5V... didn't like it very much...

@squee, that was the problem i was struggling with as well.. I didn't liked using the tabs either. that's why i got the liposhield instead.
all these wires.. The tempprobe isn't really needed if you run good cells, and if one goes, it's always the one that hasn't got the probe on it.. It's nice for airplanes, but far from ideal for cars. |
