Cold Fusion is ready to roll... - 02.07.2007, 08:58 PM

Hey guys,

Some of you lot might remember when I posted about my Wild Dagger called Cold Fusion a few times quite a while back (I was harping on about going brushless, etc). Well a lot of time has passed, a lot of work done, and seeing as I've learnt so much from this place I thought I'd post about the finished item.:018:

Here she is. I've literally just finished installing the electronics, and I'm absolutely busting to give her a trial run!

I won't go through the list of modifications right now as it's pretty huge, but it's powered by a pair of Mamba 5700 ESCs and motors. These are fed from two 8-cell Elite 4500 packs wired in parallel and then split to both motors...and WOW does it kick out some power! I haven't run it yet but I did do a quick throttle test with the wheels of the ground and crikey...I know you guys are all used to this, but the tyres were turning into pizza-cutters by 50% throttle lol!:026:
The truck as a whole is designed to be able to compete as a racer (even though it fits no official classes); handling has been my main focus and I've done all I can to make it as good as I can. I know it won't match a race-bred truggy but I'd like to think it has at least a fighting chance, lol.

Hopefully I'll be able to take the truck out for it's first run tomorrow, and a friend has volunteered to video it for me...so I'll be posting that on here. According to several speed calcs, it should have a top speed of around 55mph so I'm pretty scared to be honest! I have almost all the settings on the Mambas turned right down (with punch control at 100%) to help spare the drivetrain, so hopefully there won't be any mechancial issues. Wish me luck!

Thanks for looking, and thanks for all the help you lot have given me over the years. I've not posted much but I do lurk, and you've all been massively helpful.:018:
