please show some pics of your mount when you get it done. i'm going for a different layout than the others i've seen. i want to put the motor where the nitro one was and use saddle packs for batteries. one where the gas tank was and one where the radio box is. i measured and it looks perfect for 2 4s1p of a123's.

my layout is going to be just like lincpimp's. I didnt quite finish the motor mount today at lunch break gonna try and finish it tomorrow heat treat it to T6 on monday. i changed materials today when i started im using .100 7075-o which is untreated and will allow a sharp bend and then can be heat treated to T6. Which is gonna be very very strong, it will attach to 4 points on the bulk head and two places on the chassis (again overkill to have 6 mounting bolts). I do have my drawings i did for it today ill get those scanned and on here for you to see along with some pictures. Wish i had a spare couple hours at work one day to cnc a few of these, our machines programing are setup like autocad so its easy to program if you know autocad fairly well. My battery and RCmonster heatsink/clamp should be here this week also.

looks good. i started something just to get me going, but i'm sure its not as strong, or as good looking. i'll post pics when i get it on there if it works out. i have to use hand tools so its more crude. how hard do you think it would be to reverse your mount for the other side? maybe just make the L face the other way and its done? i can't remember if the center diff supports are simmetrical.

they are simmetrical but the lower mount holes in the L portion i think would have to be longer to make it back to the nitro motor mounts, i could make one like that, or just draw it up for you if you wanted. i gotta get off here and go finsih mine before my lunch break is over.

I'm just catching the tail end of this thread, so forgive me if I am hitting on something you've already dealt with. But I would offer one suggestion that in my opinion is huge - change out the stock tires to Proline Snake Eyes. The handling of my LS10 was horrible with the stock rubber and improved tremendously with the Prolines. Also, you can add two more shocks like the Lightning GT10 has if you're not happy with the suspension. Hope that helps.

yeah, i've already heard about the tires. that'll come after i get it going though. the shocks, i may look into, depending on how much my batteries weigh the thing down, but im really a fan of one shock per arm so i would probably just upgrade the ones i have instead of adding more.

yea im gonna have to find some stiffer springs these are gonna be a little too soft for anything but rough track with no big jumps, i dont remember if the manual had different spings in it or not. I might could just change the shock oil and get by on that. Yes the diffs are sealed, so you can had fluid and ditch the stock grease thats in there. Thanks for bringing up the tires, doesnt this thing accept associated T4 rear wheels ???? i need to order some so i can mount the moabs i have and run them.

it never crossed my mind to use the break hardware/spot as a mounting location. its looking good. i'll have mine mounted today. wife wouldn't let me finish it last night after work. everything is done, but i need to open the hole a little where the motor shaft goes through. last test fit, my pinion set screw was contacting the spur a little and i couldn't set it back further because the mount hole wasn't big enough for it to pass through.

mamba esc's have 3.5mm plugs right? my feigao didn't come with any plugs so i have to hit the lhs on the way home tonight.

For the tires, I just ordered the HB rims and put on the Snake Eyes. I looked at some Losi rims and they fit, but don't have as much clearance as the HB's so I didn't risk it. As for Springs, I ended up using some threaded shocks and springs from a Duratrax buggy - just the rear ones. I think you can use the Losi ones too. Here's some pics of mine when I had it:
