it wasn't so much that i had already drilled the body, but i had already cut down the body posts, and to get them off i had to take the shocks off. Also because they were rear posts, there were no holes for the cross bar. Just a bit of a hassle. It fits ok now, i'll definately post some pics when its mounted.

wallot, thats a great idea mounting the single post in the middle of the DUH tower!

so i don't think i'm going to hear anything back from proline

I'm going to try and use some silicone based filler and patch up the hole. Hopefully it should hold. Do you guys think this will work? Have any other ideas on how to patch up a rim?

thanks

well i heard from proline, and they said they would ship me out a new rim for free!! now hopefully i can get them to ship a bow-tie with it as well...

I got the rims dyed yesterday, left them in for 40 mins a piece. I managed to find a pot so i could fit in two at a time. Here's some pics:

I also took my standard length maxx body and hacked it up to fit the wingmount and the extended chassis. I figured the paintjob still looked pretty awesome, so why let a good body go to waste

I'll get pics of the Tango when i've stickered it up. Should be done around tomorrow.

thanks for looking

That body fits perfectly, I think. I just hope you can keep it off it's lid- would hate to see it get all scratched up.

Ooh, nice. I just noticed the dimples in the shell for if it were mounted on a 1/8 scale- are they really that much longer than a 1/10 MT?....

Looks very slick.

thanks guys! the rear of the body is as low as it can go. I might be able to go lower, but would have to cut the whole back of the body out to lower it, so i didn't think it was worth it. If you look in the pics with no shell, you can see the body posts sitting on the VBS.

Not much more to get now! Hopefully the MMM or the Quark will be released pretty soon!

A quick update - 04.10.2008, 09:10 AM

hi everyone,

just thought id let you guys know how the build is coming along...

i just ordered some parts for my centre diff conversion:

Xray Al. mounting plate set
HB hardened lightning centre diff
3mm sheet of CF

i'll post pics and progress as the CD is built, i'm going to run the kyosho 44t spur with a 12t pinion should be geared for around 65 mph

I'd like to thank linc, its me and everyone else for their help to get this CD going

You're gonna call me crazy for this...

I ordered a Neu 1527/1D/F/H , 2300kv and 4 inches long!!! I also got the heli version, which has a fan mounted to the back similar to the bigmaxximums, not that its gonna need it, it'll just look awesome

I got some pics of a Neu with the rear fan mount and it looks like the rear endbell is sealed by the fan, and the ducts direct airflow over the motor, so should be ok with regards to the dust situation.

All i need now is an MMM, DX3R, 2 Neu 30C 5000 mah 3s lipos, and a good charger, and this thing is gonna be an absolute beast

thanks alot, i'll get pics as soon as i can

It sounds like you have a plan!

Make sure also that you support the back end of the motor so it doesn't shear-off when you land your first jump!
