if you get something really cheap with a combo (299.99) on tower to push it over 300 you can use a 75 voucher for about 225 - best ive seen.

A123 batts - 10.22.2008, 07:30 PM

Anyone know how well A123 batts fit in the battery slots? I should probably just go to the traxxas website, but I try to avoid that place.

Thanks in advance.

Not very well. If you do a 2x2 4s shotgun pack it will nearly fit, but will stick out by a couple mm and youll need some other way of securing them in there (battery doors won't close). Or if you get the extended wheelbase rear arms, you can fit a side by side 6s pack in there which will stick out nearly an inch. (without the long wheelbase rear arms they're too close to the rear tyre).

I can't recall exactly but I think the max battery size is LxHxW = 165mm x 30mm x 51mm

I know the biggest pack I could find to fit in the erevo tray was the maxamps 2s2p 8000mAH lipo (20c version). This held up fine to any/all abuse and really maxed out the space for hight and width, but there was still some length in there. I saw a few photo's and the true-rc packs and SPC 8000mAH 2s lipo's also took up the entire space and were longer to boot (also weighed more than the maxamps)

I've also seen 3s 5000 polyquest packs in there - I'm pretty sure all the enerland cell based packs are the same size, so the other similar brands would fit too.

Thank you all for the replies. That will help in deciding if I end up getting one of these.
