As far as I know, the battery holder is just a big flat piece of foam rubber (high density) with velcro straps. That's what our sample kit has.

Hi Patrick,

Where are we at on the timeline?

Last I heard, this was in the production schedule, but still a ways out.

Are we in production?

Are we shipping yet?

I just wonder how much longer until I can get myself one?

Thanks.

Well, the status right now is that we are just waiting for the motors to arrive. I was in China last week, and they were finishing the motors on the production line.

There are a few hundred controllers on the production floor right now, just awaiting final assembly. They are holding off final assembly until the motors show up from China.

UPDATE: Just spoke with Kate -- and they are planning on finishing the MM XLs sometime next week.

Thanks for the reply.

My Main interest is in the controller. Will it be possible to purchase it by itself soon?

Thanks for the detailed update... I was just making my daily rounds seeing if anything new came up on the kit, I'm ready to order as soon as I am able to.. My 5T has been sitting and waiting, I feel a bit bad setting my Trevor Simpson engine aside but I know I will feel much better when I put the Castle setup in it.

I, too, was wondering when these items would arrive. We are going to do a HPI Baja 5B conversion to electric so this is great news. At the moment neither of my two big castle distributors(HRP, GlobalHobby) show anything in the coming soon section for these. I need the motor, pinion, esc, and the conversion kit itself as soon as possible. If a brushless HPI/astle Baja doesn't help my sales nothing will

I don't believe it will be very long at all - max a month I would think - Castle demo'd the conversion kit at iHobby.

I would also recommend signing up to get next months RCDriver magazine

I already get RCDriver. I've got guys at HRP trying to find out when they are getting their hands on this stuff right now. The sooner the better on these parts. Castle is a great selling brand.

I've been torn on what kind of lipos to get with this, normally I would run with my usual, Thunder Power however 2 x 4S lipos from them provide quite a sting.. what did you end up deciding on?

I'm a shop owner and went with the HobbyPeople 14.8v 35c lipos. They just need the deans female connecters soldered on. If I needed something like 60C I'd go with maxamps, I'm an AD with them too.

cough cough he just said maxamps cough cough
And this was such a good thread until now.

I couldn't wait any longer for the CC kit so my baja is running RCM conversion along with a Ice HV esc (12s if your asking) along with a neu 2220 1y motor.

I cant wait for the CC kit to come so that I can build another BL baja for my son to drive with me.
