Scored me an Ebike today. I dumped the worn out lead acid and stuck in 10s2p/4p A123's in there. This is an old style ebike, with working horn, cruize, headlight, stop light and it runs a DC geared hub motor! Talk about old school. My wife is using it to tow the little kid trailer around the neighborhood.

Cool! Nice find! Two e-bikes would be so much fun!

It was a good find for sure. Paid 300 bucks for it. It looked like the owner couldn't source a replacement battery and let his son sell it for him. I was suprised how well built this bike is. This model was meant for bicycle cops. I just don't know how they could've pedal this bike around with that heavy 36v 10A Lead acid battery.
The bike also has a Power and Economy mode.

The 107F Houston heat got me worried about running lipo's in my bike, so I opted back to running A123's. 28S2P this time around, which is 85.1V underload and 99V off the charger.

This bike is serious!!! Wow is that 6161.1+W!! Have you gotten any higher? And how are temps w/ the controller and motor?

I could go 24s on my bike, but I'm scared with my 4310 fets.. My controller isn't a Lyen.

And BTW, I'm really jealous of your CA....

Yea that is 6000W. It could've been more, but I have set the CA at 4 for the data refresh rate and the amp limit is set at 50A. At level 1 I think I could've caught a higher spike. Temps aren't hotter than when I was running the Ebay 500W motor on less voltage. I'm really liking the Magic Pie motor for it's torque. I'm hitting 42mph with my chest against the wind. My powerlab charger is pushing 850W on a daily basis now at work. I can't run dual power supplies from one wall sockets at my house without tripping the breaker.

btw, Lyen also sells the CA.

Your a madman I tell ya! But seriously I think you should put the 500W motor on the front, I'll make you another strap if you need.

An AWD bike heh. If I had a longer wheelbase bike, then yea. Plus I'm just scared to run a motor on my aluminum fork.

I'll stick the old setup in my wife's brushed ebike, so it runs quieter. Did you finish your little 4wheeler?

Sure did and after the guy came to pick it up he got it back to his house and about a day later said it wouldn't start. After asking a few questions, I asked if he had the kill switch on on the left side just above the starter button. He asked "what is that?" I told him "You see the switch that has the circle with the arrow at the end?" Yes he said, "Do you see the same symbol with the X through it, and is it on that one?" "Yes" I said "Push it the other way." Next thing I hear is "Hey it fired right up! Thanks you the man!"

Those Chinease 4 wheelers are pieces of crap on the wiring side, but the running gear seemed good 110CC did pretty good. I am looking at Bayou 220 for $100, but I'm going to wait a litttle bit. I love carb problems seems knowbody seems to know how to work on them anymore.

Hey Snellemin, I was wondering if you could do a quick break-down of the parts you bought for this ( current/ final setup ), like the model of motor, controller(s), bike computer thingy and such + links for sources. I think I've located most of the items but there are more than one version of some of them so it would help alot to know exactly what you are using.

I am planning a bike build in the near future & your setup looks to be about ideal for what I had in mind ( though maybe not quite as fast ).

Cheers dude.
