I just got the same call from Chris that said mid June and mine was not fixable. I don't really understand why, as mine did not have a catastrophic melt down, it just quit working. I sent a note to Joe and am awaiting an answer.

A month is kind of a long time IMO for them to hang on to $170 , Joe should send us a Hydra 240HV to play with while we wait or at least a Mamba

I got the same call yesterday and sent an email to Joe last night, but he hasn't replied yet. They said it wouldn't pass the test so they were going to scrap it. I'm sooo bummed.

Yeah, I got the call today as well. The girl said it could not be repaired.

I could have told her that. You could take one look at mine and guess it was not going to be repaired.

It was a melted blob of plastic and some loose wires in the box.

I'm thinking about buying another one before mine gets back.

Is that a dumb idea? Maybe it'll last a few rounds like the last one.

Any reasons why they cannot be repaired? Are the boards crapping out, or just a bunch of components that are not worth replacing?

All she would say is that it couldn't pass the test so they were going to scrap it and I would get a replacement mid-June. I'm hoping Joe will be able to shed some light as to what the problem actually is. Mine was not melted like some of the others so I thought it was going to be a fairly simple fix.

Here is the edited email I received from Joe tonight around 8 pm. I edited because the other part is not needed to get the point across. Pretty cool of him to respond at 8 pm in my opinion. I feel better and worse, but I am not mad, I know they want it working right. I also can appreciate the stress this is causing the team at CC as well. I think we all need to remember that while it is okay to be critical, we must remain tactful in our approach in dealing with this.

We are just on hold right now
while the engineers test to see what the issue is...we don't want to
send out any more controllers where customers can possibly have this
issue. I hope you understand. We worked for a LONG time to get this
right, it performs PERFECTLY in final testing, and then some weird thing
like this happens that we just can't/won't accept as acceptable. We
strive to keep our word that our stuff is the best bang for the buck,
and we're not going to let you guys down. We've been testing for a few
days now and purposely blowing up controllers and inspecting those sent
in to see where the problem lies. Once we get a handle on things, rest
assured we'll take care of you.

Nothing wrong with the Rubycons, couldn't get FMs. Remember WE ARE NOT BUYING CAPS in Asia.... so no possibility of getting "seconds" or phonies or manufacturer rejects like there is with Chinese manufacturers.

BEC doesn't look right eh? In what way?

Understand that I've been doing this for 22 years... it's not like this was designed by an amateur...

Maybe the MMM was hitting cutoff with the 4000mah pack and it went into a "safe mode"? Just a possible idea.
