dude, i love your avatar!
so i have been looking at servos non stop the last day or two and having a tuff time deciding. i have looked at that hitec one but i wont get a servo with nylon gears no matter what they say it is rated at. just a thing. i got to have metal gears. so here is what i have found. i already bought one servo that i thought was a 1/4 servo but it turns out its regular size. just got it yesterday. its the futaba s9157 rated at 425oz so i will just keep it for the brakes.
i think i want to stick with either futaba or the hpi servo though cuz that way i can use the HD HPI servo arm.
one option is to get the HPI sfl 10 and then get the metal gear upgrade here.

there is still one plastic gear this route but its good for over 300oz at peak torque.
then there is the new sfl 30 which is good for 250oz thru the entire sweep of the servo arm.

then there is this homemade servo on ebay that is all metal gears and 310oz

but whats a "programmable servo" and is the spektrum dx3r a analog or digital radio? what is the difference between digital and analog servos?
and here are the futaba servos i am considering:

http://www.servocity.com/html/s5302_..._hi-speed.html
here is what i dont get though. how come the standard size servos put out way more torque than the large scale ones? also, when it comes to the large scale servos the nylon gear ones offer mor torque than the metal gear servos. why is this?
why cant hitec just offer a 1/4 scale titanium gear 480oz servo like their new standard size servo? that would be sweet!
i am pretty sure i am gonna get the either the futaba s5050 or the s5301. i just need to know whether i need a digital or analog servo and what difference does it make.
so many questions.
oh, and check this out! wish this would have been on ebay 2 weeks ago.
