How do you get the test to work in the first place? No on answered that for me in my last post. I've tried it with my Sidewinder speed control and the data never shows up even with V3.255.

I think that was to cut down on Tech support phone calls from people with four and six pole motors....

Make sure you have actually updated your Sidewinder to the latest firmware version. You must have 1.28 (now 1.29) on your controller to get the torque limit feature. Simply installing the latest software on the computer won't give you the latest firmware and any new features associated with that firmware. If you have updated to the latest firmware, then I'm not sure why you don't have the torque limit setting.

Any truth to the claims that the latest firmware is causing Mamba Pro units to go up in smoke? I know someone that personally had this happen, and read about it happening to others.

I'm very hesitant to upgrade my Mamba Monsters because of this.

Haven't heard anything about Mamba Pro, and I check the boards regularly -- Mamba Max had a glitch where the new software would make the on-board USB stop working -- but that software was fixed right away.

That's it. This newest version stop the "hesitation" that some setups were seeing when using torque limiting.

Thanx!

Patrick

Aww man Patrick, I was enjoying that feature as it was. Is there a way of having a "secret code" to unlock it so that we can look at the motor Kv on the current software version?

Were there any updates for the MMM with V1.29? I don't see anything for the MMM in the update logs.

What MMM bugs are you waiting for a fix? I wasn't aware of any real issues on the MMM.

The torque control changes (fixing the hesitation and startup) applied to all Mamba ESCs (including the MMM.)

Thanx!

Patrick

Patrick
that was the only problem i was having.

They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.

That's great to hear! I'm off to Holland this weekend to get some practice on the track for the next so I'll keep V1.21 until then. Just to be sure I won't run into problems. I'll try it on our club track next week. However most of the tracks are very high grip astro turf and this seems a bad place to test the torque control :p
I'll try it when the track is wet!

Why not just add a motor pole selector and keep the motor rpm visible? Kinda what MGM Compro has.
