Ive read that jato driveshafts dont work on a rustler with jato arms. On the rustler the arm mounts sit outboard of the diff outputs, and I guess on the jato they are about even.
I dont know what the camber links I used are from, I just had them laying around and they worked.

I took the Rustler out for a spin today. I haven't had a running R/C in so long I had forgotten how fast it already was. Maybe the 6s+600XL will be overkill...

I'm using the Rustler hardware for now. RPM arms and the MIP CVD kit. I now have a full complement of Acer ceramic bearings in the tranny and rear axles. If you don't already use ceramic bearings I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM! I bought a Top Flight balancer and balanced all four tires. I now highly recommend balancing your tires! I don't know how I was able to control this thing before I did.

Last night I ordered some 5mm M1 pinions from Mike. As soon as I get them I can run the 600XL. I'm gonna use the MaxAmps 4s until I can afford the new 6s pack. That should give me enough time to practice driving in a straight line.

Some current pictures:

I belted the Speed Hawgs with two layers of good quiality duct tape. Oh my what a difference. No ballooning at all, at what appeared to be 45+ Mph. Enough of a traction increase from the taping alone that I could accelerate fast enough to hear a higher tone emanating from the motor before I had to hit the brakes. It's getting faster but I need more space! I still have yet to see the top end on this setup.

Motor temp during this test peaked at 179.3 *F. I need a lower ratio. The motor is revving too high with 22/86 gearing.

Sweet man. Those belted prolines where awesome when I used them as well. They only last me 1 day at a TNT though. Gets expensive quick.

It's kinda funny, cause I use to run the same setup of tires last year. Are you using the soft or hard rubber in the front?

Did I flag myself, Serum?

Thanks, dirtyal. Snellemin I'm using the hard tires in the front. They don't balloon much at all since they're a harder compound. I have some of the soft compound tires here but they'll have to be taped before they get installed. Otherwise, I see speed-induced backflips in my future.

Cool beans man. I run the hard ones up front as well. Less rolling resistance down the straightaway. I have no need for using donut tires up front.

I did a couple burnouts on the basement floor to make sure the rear camber was at 0*. Looking at the perfectly centered wear pattern I'd say it is! The motor runs very well with 20* timing on the MGM. The brakes have to be set hard, and startup time is at 0.39s (the third option). No cogging what-so-ever! I like it. Can't wait to see how it acts with a full 4s pack - when the rain stops. By the time I have enough cash to blow on the 6s pack I should be a pretty good driver. Actually...is it safe to run 6s on a 16016 or do I have to buy a new controller too? Oh well my birthday is coming I suppose I can wait.
