well today was a bust for me i spose.. didn't make it to the track (2 hours away, AND closed at 3pm)..
i got somewhat of a charge in the packs, and took it out on my street for a few minutes.. hopefully i'll have some video by monday.. i've got the 18t (i think) pinion on it, as i still have to get the 21t to fit.. bought some hardware for velcro strap loops, they rub the rear tires when off the ground, but on the ground running, it didn't seem to be a problem
speeds i'd guess were only 30-40s, but the throttle epa was at 15%, and can be set up to 125 i believe.. the packs died before i had a chance to tweak the radio at all.. also, the controller settings are still defaults.. what do you guys suggest changing to get more punch/speed, ect?

You need better batteries for that thing. Those NiCDs are not going to cut it. Lipo will make that thing RIP.

ok, so second run.. had epa at 100%, and it seemed about the same..
i guess because before at 15%, it had been programed at 15%, so it thinks it's 100%?
I also changed to race mode, because the earlier run the car would stop completely when i went too far away.. it was still well in range, just interference.
also put torque at Normal2..
speed seemed about high 40's low 50's? idk, maybe i'm underestimating myself, because it's so incredibly easy to control. 20mph 360's! :)
also, with the front one-way, it's easy to loop it w/ too much braking.. if it spins 180, and is rolling backwards, it doesn't seem like it has very much punch to spin the tires.. i have to give it like 50% throttle to get it to get it going from reverse to forward.. idk, just doesn't seem like it's all that powerful. it's a different application for me, but the car doesn't seem any faster than my old tc3 w/ lehner5300 and 8 cells?

Maybe try reprogramming the ESC with the EPA set a 100% will help?

How much have the batteries been used recently? In my own experience Nickel batteries tend to need to be "woken up" by running a couple of cycles before they perform best. That's one reason why I use LiPo :D.

What are these "Nickel batteries" you speak of? They sound good! :005:
