Here is the image of the thunder tiger pinion, I have only just started using one (I am trying to 10t, and am going to race it this weekend to see how long it will run before thermaling).

Additionally, in terms of speed, I got my mp777 sp2 runing the hv4.5 and a 10t pinion going 44 miles an hour yesterday (average top speed over 5 runs), so I am guessing that the high gearing and the 3s battery situation are the cause of lack of speed. 11t or 12t should work ok, without to much thermaling (hopefully) so you should be able to get mid 40s to 50s (maybe).

Yusa Buggy Setup Sheet

Some chassis tuning on all three Yusa rigs. I copied all the settings off my Losi 8 Race Roller onto the Yusa's and that netted a HUGE performance improvement - go figure. Below are the suspension setups I used with about a 3-4 toe out on the front wheels and zero degree camber on all wheels. I clipped in 1/4 shock pre-loads on all shocks.

ok, well that was off topic... I would feel sorry for anyone who had an open motor and drove through a small pile of cottonwood seed things... (if nothing else it would be tiresome to clean off, but it could cause a short in the motor...)
Ok, so I am just ranting about cottonwoods... (either that or you destroyed a cotton field with your buggy, but I will assume that it is cottonwood tree seeds...)

Yeah, I was listening to the radio yesterday and someone called in claiming it was snowing... After about a 5 minute rant by the talk show host about global cooling someone else called up and reminded everyone it was just cottonwood time.
Although I have seen snow in upstate NY that is a different story (and hopefully a different summer).

Hmm.. Where can I find these buggies for sale (either roller, pro, RTR, etc)? I can't seem to find them for sale in the US.

but if you buy the brand name you might actually have to pay a reasonable price.... Seriously, if the ebay guy posts any more I would probably pick one up for $100, but the more expensive it gets the more likely I would be just to buy a used brand name roller of ebay.

This thread has been maintained to support everyone out there that picked up the Yusa's.

Yusa Model Company went out of business some time ago, and SupraSales hasn't had any for a very long time, so I would say it's unlikely you will find any others out there.

The Happy Time Hobbies Katana is the same thing, however you won't get it for $80.

FYI - to everyone else, I just harvested the aluminum knuckles from a Thunder Tiger EB4 -S3 for the Yusa and they worked perfect, but did require a little front suspension re-tuning. A cheap option for replacement knuckles.

So I spent nearly 5 hours at the track beating the living hell out of my Yusa with a Brushless Medusa Research 2200Kv 540 motor and a fan cooled Castle Creations Mamba Max running 3S MaxAmps packs. 9AM-2PM.

I didn't break a thing and kicked everyone elses buts at the track...well to be fair none of the three nitro guys that showed up at the track could get their cars running for more than five minutes. ;<

The ESC topped out at 110 degrees and the motor never topped 109 all day.

Awesome day and the Yusa performed excellent. Brushless Rules!

I wish I could get that kind of reliablility with my buggy (mp777 w/ HV4.5). Between a screws coming loose (I think I have almost all of them loctited now) and the bad (for electric) combination of a dry tray and to much torque I was looking like a fool at the track last night.... and I broke my battery tray. I have fixed that, hopefully it will hold and I won't have to buy a new one. And also hopefully I won't break the buggy at the races on Sunday.
I will stop hijacking the Yusa thread now.

First thing I did with the Yusa was LocTite every freaking screw on the roller - every pro I know lock tights everything...best advise I have ever had.

It was truly an awesome day. I have never ever had 5 hours straight at the track, 30-90 minutes here and there. I didn't stop one with the exception of waiting on a pack to finish charging. I highly recommend the Medusa motor with heat sink - it just ran and ran and ran on a 12T pinion. I think I could go up to a 16 pretty easy without a problem and get the buggy into the 40MPH range. That would be plenty fast for our tighter track.

If you run different Mh packs, just an observation I made, but start with the lower Mh pack first then go to the larger Mh pack. I did it the other way around and I was waiting on the larger pack to charge.
