Why? Electronics go bad from time to time, it happens to all manufacturers...

dadnjesse 08.16.2008 11:34 PM

How on earth are you on your fourth one and people who preordered a long time ago still have none

suicideneil 08.16.2008 11:58 PM

Squeeky wheel > oil I believe was mentioned...

As for the servo: Futaba S9351 digital steering servo

I agree with Metalman though- servos can go bad, as can any electrical item, for no apparent reason. That said, a high torque digital servo that went haywire could pull alot more amps in theory than a normal analogue item, I'd have thought?

God bless my 2 little HS645MGs

sikeston34m 08.17.2008 12:08 AM

It's too bad there isn't some sort of fuse block available to prevent this sort of thing from happening.

auto2 08.17.2008 10:28 AM

do me a favor and go over this whole disaster.
the servo was bad from the beginning (but worked?) on the BEC it didnt glow red hot but a reciever pack gave the short enough to make it glow?

did castle say the mmmv1 may of damaged the servo?

mk351e 08.17.2008 11:17 AM

Well, it would be impossible to prove that any of the MMM's fried my servo, so there's really no point in even thinking about it. I'm gonna suck it up as a loss, and be happy the damn thing works. And, as it turns out, it works great! BL is awesome!! The power is just INSANE!!!! I'm gonna get the servo fixed, it was too much money to dump it.

I got mine so quick because, well, I don't know. From what I understand, there was an extra 100 made for just in case, and they must have been pulling from that pile for me. They did the right thing though, I mean, I pre ordered mine in what, April? 1st broke, the v2 broke, then they sent another becasue they felt bad, and when that puffed, they did it again. I have no idea why others are still waiting, but should I have been put to the back of the list every time? Don't think so.

However, 30 seconds into the maiden run, my 2 brand new pre mounted phaltlines blew out the foams because of an improper glue job at the factory, so I have no street tires now. I will call hpi tomorrow - $50, and they lasted literally about 30 seconds. BS!

At some point I would imagine, things WILL STOP going wrong for me!

where did you order from. A lot of these people had original v1 and just got a replacement. This will yield priority over ANY pre-order. And it also depends on where your pre-order is. Certain online retailers will get a stock before others.

BTW if you seen mk351e was an original v1 repair guy so he would have priority.

just re-glue them. BL makes so much torque that premounts never hold their bead long, even a proper done personal job will lose it's bead much sooner than a nitro would. CA just can not hold the torque of BL for long. I keep a bottle of glue in my pocket every time i take the truck out

Glad to hear it is running well.

I had the same problem with the pre mounted Phaltlines (full set of 4), returned them to HPI and asked that they send me unmounted ones. They did but it took a couple months because the tires were out of stock (got the wheels in a week or so).

Maybe not a total happy ending but glad you are seeing light at the end of the tunnel.

mk351e 08.17.2008 06:40 PM

yeah, I like happy endings, uh hu huh huhuhuhuhuhu

I'm on my way out to run now. I REALLY love BL!!! WAAAAY better than nitro! And I REALLY like the Muggy too; VERY impressive! I still don't get why it's not more popular; it's like a revo on steriods. Kinda.

I think I am on par with MK on bad luck with the MMM at the moment. I think I might be a bit worse as I still don't have a working one. Castle is getting it sorted though so I can't complain. I also know that it's not my servos killing the MMM too as they have all been in other cars in between MMM's.

auto2 08.17.2008 10:59 PM

my premounts didnt unglue but they are so out of balance!!!!!! i balanced them and after 5 minutes they are out again like the foams are moving inside the tire .terrible.

MetalMan 08.18.2008 12:54 AM

The foams in Phaltlines aren't exactly what I would call foams... I actually removed all of the tires from the rims, taped them with duct tape, clean up the tire and wheel beads, and reglued everything. They've held up very well since then.
