I still don't see any angle in person. Here's shots from the other side. I can see where some shots what looks like an angle, but thats just lens distortion.

It looks straight as an arrow. I don't see how it could be crooked at all. I'm using the factory diff mounts, I just turned the diff 180*. Nothing has been elongated or drilled in any way as far as the mounts go. The only way it could be off at this point is the RCM mount was drilled wrong. And I hesitate to say that. Its done by a CNC machine, the chances of it being drilled are small.

I filed down the set screw to a flat edge and brought the truck with me to work. I'll use my lunch to flog it on 6S and see what happens.

If you are not doing it already, I would suggest cleaning all the parts, pinion and grub screw with brake cleaner and then using a can of air to dry it before you apply the loctite.

Can you get the pinon to line up better (flip it around)? Having the spur mesh with the edge of the pinion may also cause it to be forced off. Just another thought.

That was my alternate attempt the pinion is 180* from that. The way its installed now is opposite that picture.

To me it looks as if the stock mount needs a small shim under it.
Looks like the top of bearing on the rcm motor mount side is sticking out a smidge further then the bottom.
Just what the pics look like.
Take a measure ment and see if any difference if can.

Ha my problem is not being able to get my pinion off! The set screw stripped out on mine. I need to drop about 2 teeth on it but when i went to take it off the stupid screw stripped.

Went ahead and did this (easiest/fastest thing to check). Issue is so far fixed and I didn't have to modify anything.

Remains to be seen how long it lasts but I bashed pretty hard on 6S last night and had lots of on/off/brake cycles to stress the driveline and the pinion is currently in the same place it was when I started.

Glad it's holding up to the abuse and you're having a great time doing it!!!!!

I did have one video in my other thread. But I was the driver and the cameraman so its not very good.

I tried to make another one today in landscape so it would look better (aka normal aspect ratio) but daylight was waning and then someone called my phone and I lost most of the daylight I had.

Now that I can actually drive the car for longer periods I can definitely see that I need to up the pinion size. I ordered a 16 and 18 today. Figured I'd try the 16t pinion and see where i end up, and if it was too hot/cold decide if I needed to go up more.

Motor was warm to the touch (hard to truly tell by hand in this cold weather). I ordered a temp gun cause my old one for nitro's apparently no longer works. :(

Would be nice to get this sorted out.
