It's a secret :).

BP-Revo 02.17.2007 02:45 AM

Is it a secret that I can know if I call you? LOL

Well...either way I can't run my truck...

Mike doesn't have any 1940 6 or 7 turns in stock, and I can't buy them till I sell the HV...so for now...non working truck.

I'm just going to talk to Novak to get my HV fixed for now. Hopefully I can do it under warranty - which is still like 40 bucks...without warranty its going to be like 100+

Bp-revo, which mm ESC is it? The one on rc-monster supports up to 3s.

BrianG 02.17.2007 07:52 PM

BP, why not just run your HV motor on the MM ESC?

BP-Revo 02.17.2007 11:14 PM

I don't think it would run as well.

If I'm not mistaken, the HV System (mostly the ESC) has constantly variable timing. This means that power is maximised across the entire powerband. This is probably why they can pump out decent MT power from a 380 sized rotor. I would like to keep this if I run the HV motor. I'm not so sure I want to change.

From what I have heard form users with similar problems, its the ESC blowing out because it can't support the 4.5 with higher gearing. It ran fine with 70/13, had a bit of throttle cutting at 68/13, but I thought that was the Smart Stop. Then, when I put on 68/14 when doing speed runs, it cut out...

What I might just do is get the HV system fixed, run it on conservative gearing until Mike gets the 1940/6's in stock, and then see what I'll do. Then again, I might just wait untill the actual MMM comes out. I don't know...a 1940/6 seems very tempting right now.

BrianG 02.17.2007 11:17 PM

Still, might not hurt to try it just to see. I'd start with conservative timing/gearing and go from there. You might be surprised. :)

Well...trying it would costs 130+ dollars...

Controllers use a constant variable timing (or the frequency they work on) Novak isn't the only one that does this.

Oooo...in that case... MIKE WHERE's YOUR 1940/6's?!?!?! lol

Also, just to make sure....a 1940/6 on 4S will be faster than 40mph yes? Do you think the MM will handle it ok?

Serum 02.18.2007 04:09 AM

Yeah, on 4S it should not be a problem.

40mph without a sweat. If you use good lipo's they won't heat up either.

The 1940/mm will have more power (over the entire powerband) than the hvmaxx.

BP-Revo 02.18.2007 04:21 AM

I've got the Maxamps 8K Lipo's. I assume that will be plenty?

Serum 02.18.2007 04:25 AM

Yeah, they should be okay!

True, but I thought you were getting the ESC anyway. If the motor doesn't have anough to suit you, you could always go on and get the LMT like you were planning. It just a suggestion...
