Those programming cards are in stock now I just ordered one.

killajb 01.30.2008 05:10 PM

I have the programming card as well, but have yet to try it out. As you already know..

{{The instructions associated with the ESC do seem a little vague, but the ones for the programming card a better. Apparently the ESC comes set to the "medium" cut-off setting which is 2.85v/cell. You can change this with the programming card to 3.1v/cell.}}

I will definitely set the ESC to 3.1v/cell setting for LVC. If they don't come in stock at United, send me a PM and I'll let you borrow the one I have.

I got one of the last ones from this round :P Will have my esc and board soon. plus a heap of wire and connectors woot!

Routybouty 01.30.2008 08:40 PM

What motor are you getting? Getting the teckno conversion?

Sammus 01.30.2008 08:45 PM

Feigao 11XL with RCM motor mount. Running 6s. I also found some ceramic bearings for the feigao motors which are rated to 70,000rpm - I wouldnt push em that hard but it could maybe help with the temps at high rpm.

Just a little thing I did today. Doesn't show much but was fun!

Sammus 01.30.2008 08:56 PM

haha very cool, I've never seen so much ICE!! that must be cool living right next to a frozen lake... here I am in 35C (= 95F) I wonder how much my motor will heat up  What was the temp of the motor like after that run? I imagine there was a bit of high revving on the ice.

Also, do you have footage of any top speed runs? I'd like to see how quick this thing will go :)

This is with the center diff ungodly loose.

Sammus 01.30.2008 09:13 PM

haha nice. So how hot does the esc get with a lot of low throttle driving? like around a tight track or just if you dont want it jacking up the on back wheels and loosing control all the time :P

Routybouty 01.30.2008 09:24 PM

It doesn't get hot at all. It got about 85 in 65 degree weather. This is what I measured after a 15 min run at the track. This track is pretty small and has tight turns.

tashpop 01.30.2008 09:27 PM

looks good. i'm asking so many questions about the esc, because i've been planning on getting one for my next conversion. the pistic i was asking about earlier is to allow use of an air esc with a pistal radio. are you using a pistal radio with your setup? does it drive normal?

In one of the customer feedback reviews on hobbycity it says:
Quote:

This is one of the better ESC I have purchased here on UH. It works perfectly with a pistol grip controller, unlike most of the other ESC here that need an adapter for PG controllers. The large heat sink is perfect for high heat dissipation and with 12ga wires you can use all 100 amps with confidence. Get one before the price goes up!
I know its not proof that it's fine, but it was good enough for me, plus I dont think Routybouty is using a stick radio or a pistix, so should be fine.

Routybouty 01.30.2008 09:38 PM

Never heard of that. What is it, some type of device between the esc and rx? I'm running a Spektrum DX3R and it works like normal. I just had a heck of a time programming it, but I'm gonna blame that on the instructions.

Yea I read all the reviews on it from hobbycity and everyone stated it was a good esc, that was the deciding factor in me getting one.

DickyT 01.31.2008 12:29 AM

what fluid are you running in your CD?

Routybouty 01.31.2008 12:52 AM
