haha, the thought did cross my mind but then, RPM dun make white front bumpers....erm..or do they?. wahaha..

weight of my truck??? now thats gonna be a bit of a problem then....

squeeforever 05.22.2006 12:22 AM

A guestamate is all we will need. Now that I check, they don't. I thought they use to though. If I'm not mistaken you can get a chrome one and get the chrome off of it and then dye it since it will be white underneath. You can dye all there parts but one to a darker color. I don't think it gets any darker than black ;)

hmm...iguess i could "borrow" my wife's bathroom scale for a bit....let you know as soon as i get it done.

thanks

coolhandcountry 05.22.2006 08:15 AM

The bathroom scale works. It is not real accurate. The truck being light you may have to weigh you with and with out truck.

Sylvester 05.22.2006 10:31 AM

I'd use 1 piston for sure, the integy shocks have HUGE piston holes! 60-70Wt would be a good place to start off.

WOAH!!! 60 - 70 wt oil??!!!

that means i'm weigh off!! haha pun intended.:026: i'm currently using 45 wt oil with 2 hole pistons!!! if i'm not wrong thats what the dayum instruction sheet told me to do!!! GGRRRRRRR!!!

well last night i swaped pistons on the rear set of shocks to the 1 hole ones, same 45wt oil (havent bought heavier oils yet)....damps soooooo much better instead if the boing boing effect in front. so the rear goes ffuuuwap psssttttt instead of boingaboing....

oh by the weigh:005: ....my sis in law's got my bathroom scale!!! AARGGHHHHHHH

weight of truck's gots ta wait till the weekend i guess....sorry for the delay guys...and thanks for helping so far....

Sylvester 05.22.2006 08:26 PM

2 hole with 45wt? EWWWWW! J/k, glad you found a better piston for your liking. imo the 2 and 3 hole pistons are usless.

overtki11 05.22.2006 08:32 PM

haha...will having "too thick" an oil damage the shock in anyway?..just wonderin'....

Sylvester 05.22.2006 09:37 PM

No it wil not, but if you have stock shocks the cap can pop off.

squeeforever 05.22.2006 10:20 PM

Actually, if you have weak shafts (I have heard that Integy's do) in the shocks then on somethimes the oil will make it so slow that the shafts can bend instead of the shock compressing but this is rare and is only when running VERY heavy oil. You have nothing to worry about.

overtki11 05.22.2006 11:09 PM

poping off and bending?!!! yikes!!

thanks for the info guys.....

squeeforever 05.22.2006 11:55 PM

Bending a shaft like that is pretty rare.

MetalMan 05.23.2006 12:20 AM

Using thicker oil with 2 or 3 hole pistons does have its advantages. The biggest one is that the thicker the oil, the less likely it is to leak out of the shock.

squeeforever 05.23.2006 11:08 AM

But it only gets so thick and if 70 wt is needed for 1 hole then image what the 2 holes might need for a heavy truck....

overtki11 05.28.2006 10:34 PM

well, still haven't had a chance to weigh my maxx yet.
been busy putting her back together with some new parts.
here's my maxx as she stands right now....in all her orange glory!

That is one VERY nice truck.

boss 302 05.28.2006 11:14 PM

the orange and the black look very good together!!!

very nice truck

coolhandcountry 05.29.2006 08:22 AM

that orange turned out nice. Are you going to get a white wing and make it orange as well. Just a thought.

overtki11 05.29.2006 11:06 PM

thanks guys..yes the orange turned out wwaaaayyyyy better than i thought it would.....i'm happy.

white rear wing?...hmm....but do they make wings in nylon?...coz i hear that this dyeing thing only works with nylon stuff.....and plastic will warp in the hot water!!:026:

anyone know who makes nylon wings???

actually i was toying with the idea of a front wing as well.....??!!!

squeeforever 05.29.2006 11:08 PM

Actually I don't think that dying a wing will be a problem because they dye rims without problems and there made of the same plastic.

overtki11 05.29.2006 11:13 PM

hmm... maybe i give it a shot then......thanks dude.

coolhandcountry 05.30.2006 08:34 AM

If all else fails could paint it. Just have to find a color close or same as you want.

squeeforever 05.30.2006 11:02 AM

Since paint doesn't stick to plastic well, if you paint it, use Kylone Fusion paint. It is made for plastic.

coolhandcountry 05.30.2006 11:19 AM

I paint mine like a rc body. You have to spray the first layer on and rough it a little. Used the same paint to. It just gets scratched so easy.

overtki11 06.19.2006 04:06 AM

brought the OGmaxx out yesterday!!

glad to report that for the first time since i got this truck...nothing came loose or broke its entire run...managed to dump 3 sets of batts!!!

to me thats a BIG deal!!:027: :027:

Cheap imitation

Overkill... Here is my cheap imitation. I actually was just rebuilding an old emaxx when I saw your body mount and thought it was awesome. I had an old body sitting around that I chopped up and painted black and... volia.... cheap imitation.

You know what they say... Imitation is the purest form of flattery.:027:

Mines not near as nice as yours, The arms were already yellow and came out of my parts bin along with most of the other parts. I got the chassis used on ebay from CoolHandCounrty. Motor and ESC came out of my e-revo when I upgraded. The only new part on it is the wheels and tires, and I ordered a wing mount and wing that aren't here yet.

Sorry, don't mean to step on your design, but I thought it was so cool I just had to do it.:dft001:
