Serum,

1) Sorry about the back to back posts. Enough said, lets move on.

2) With respect to diff cups. 7075 cups will be more than adequate and I agree, at this point given my set-up with 7075 cups, 7075 cases, and upgraded hardware the weak link is now the gears. No argument. For a stock diff the cases & cups are "flexible" which allows for mis-alignment and the inevitable broken gear tooth which is why I'm recommend alloy diff cases & cups, plus RRP gears whenever possible.

3) Regarding machining costs...........
My comments were based on larger production runs not "one offs" or very small runs. I agree 100% that the initial production of a part is expensive and that the programming, machine set-up, QC, etc., are by far the largest part of the initial cost and not the material. In established production runs the material and special tooling run the costs up for the Ti parts.

I would like to get the answer to the same question above, about the UBEC. Also whats the maximum top speed, the 7xl motor is capable of ? Without running hot or anything.

neweuser 07.11.2006 02:30 PM

The ubec replaces the use of an rx battery pack. the speeds depend on a few factors, gearing, batteries, etc...

So lets say with "ideal" gearing and batts, is the 7xl capable of insane speeds like 70+ mph ?

On a side note, Have we found out whats the gearing in the 1/8 buggy diffs by HB?

coolhandcountry 07.11.2006 04:11 PM

The buggy diffs by hb are 3.31 ratio.
The truggy diffs by hb are 4.3 ratio.
The weight of the car and how many cells depends on how fast you can go as well. The quality of batteries. You also have to figure in the amount of drag and stuff different buggies and trucks or even cars have. 70 MPH in a mt is harder to do than a street car.

neweuser 07.13.2006 05:50 PM

I would say very hard to do in an MT, but a street car? I'd love to see it, it would be crazy to control though! If your looking to hit 70 with a BL, it's gonna take money because you'd want to build it right, also, dump the mt and build something that can help control the speed, you hardly keep a mt straight at 60, and that's if you can find a way to put the power to the ground.
