New trucks are always so darn pretty! It is a shame I can't seem to keep any of mine as shiney and new as that one. that is a sweet ride, Rene. Very nicely done. The aluminum single speed tranny will complement it nicely. The 7xl will, however, flex that motor mount if you take a medium to large jump. My 1940 put a hurtin on my motor mount lately(though it was a 37 foot long, 15+ foot high jump!). I think a brace under the rear of the motor is in order(for both of us!).

Soo.... Who has some brilliant ideas for a rear brace for these XTRA LARGE Motors? As you may recall the 1940 is going mine.

Motor brace: I always imagine some angled alu with a U-shaped top, same diameter as the motor. Should be easy to grow ;)

Hmm... "To Grow" :L: Yea, I wish these things grew on trees. So all I had to do, was got to the farmer and make him an offer.
I am trying to picture the brace attaching to the rear plate. How do you feel about just doubling(sp) the Gmaxx motor mount? Would it fit?

What if you made a gmaxx mount out of thicker metal? Make it a bout 6-8 mm in thickness.

It's an idea. Unfortunately, I have not ordered my CNC machine yet. ;) That machine would come in handy. Maybe grow my GMaxx lipo lower plate at the same time.:P:

perhaps something along the lines of a pillow block without the need for the bearing?

I think Daf's suggestion is good.A piece of L-angle aluminium with a channel in top for the motor to rest on should take the stress off the motor plate.I think that'll be enough,i don't think it necessarily needs to attach to the motor,just support it,maybe rubber padded would be good too.
