let the bashing begin
LOL...I wish you lived closer Linc........so I could watch you trying to keep up with my converted Revo with V-twin Vxl's......my main concern would be to try to steer clear of all the broken parts flying off your truck....bwhahahahahah
if by some fat chance you can catch me...I will just pull out my vxl esc's and put in two mm's and run 2 x 4s batts whoooo hooooooo .......praise the V-Twin Revo unstopable and unbeatable..cheaper faster, more dependable:tongue: Neil...sorry dude twin vxl's are not a fad...there a religion...bwhahahahahahah |
That makes me, BombProof and HighAmplitude your Gods.
Bow down and worship us. |

First off, you claim that you will be dodging parts coming off my truck... Are you questioning my assembly skills, or claiming that revos break easily? You also have a revo so that would be a stupid thing to say. Judging by your build thread you are running maxamps packs. Need I say more... Also, a 1521 will produce more power and torque than the 2 S can feigao motors you are running (that is what those velineon motors are so don't bother arguing with me). That will allow me to gear higher than you. Plus I will not be running fans on my motor to keep them going... A 1521 should be able to easily output 2000watts. I highly doubt that a s can feigao can put out 1000 watts, 600-700 would be more likely. Also your batteries are not likely to put out 1000 watts each... You are running the old emaxx tranny in your truck, not as strong as the new erevo/emaxx tranny. I know that the old tranny would not be able to handle the torque output of the 1521. I doubt your v twin esc/motor/fan/lipo setup was cheaper than my MMM/1521/polyquest setup. I have a feeling they were about the same. I will also be running 1/8 scale diffs in Mike's hybrid cases, going to be alot stronger than your stockers... Honestly your thread is quite poor, and just sounds like someone who does not really understand brushless or have much experience with various setups. I have owned most of what is available and will stick to a neu/mmm. I will be more than happy to do some speeds runs and a 20 min bash session with you. Just unplug those fans on the motors and we will see who fails first... |
Correction, his name was hiamplidude!

I feel a drag race comming on...
V2 hybrids will take care of the diff issues, and maybe some of those nice new summit cvd driveshafts will prevent any issues there too, meaning that Linc's road missile will east the puny V-twin (topspeed: 61mph) for breakfast. Didnt JZEMaxx have that 1/8 MT doing 80mph + with the same motor as you are using Linc?... EDIT: Hiamplidude, correct (thats just sounds odd, but still cool, lol). |

hahahahah....all true...I just wanted to ruffle some feathers....I didnt think my attempt at british humor (without being british) would be taken so seriously.......but I will say this in my defense
no one here has seen a revo V-Twin on two mm's and four 2s (flightpower) not maxamps....your looking at an old build thread Linc I think it would be an interesting drag race for sure....I may not know much but I have fun and I sometimes make the right choices "cutting up" is my nature and it sometimes gets misconstrude as being serious..... |

Hmmm, I have 4 trakpower lipos myself... and a spare pair of MMMs... I will just pick up another 1515 1.5d. And slap all of that in my Mlst... I can see that truck eating your v-twin for lunch.:party: |

Anyone that has owned a VLX ESC, did you guys experience that throttle lag?

Glad I caught this after it was cleared up that "bustitup wasn't completely serious! I have never been a fan of the v-twin setup, it's a waste IMO. I thought the point of converting to BL was that one single motor could easily out do 2 brushed motors. The cost of 2 VXL systems is approaching the cost of my Tekno Neu/MMM setup, is more than a MMM/XL series motor, and more than a MMM combo will be and any of those will spank a v-twin IMHO. The VXL combo isn't bad for it's intended purpose but the MM esc is much better than the vxl esc for the same task.
All that said I wish you luck Linc, not at getting it together, or keeping it together, but at keeping it rubber side down! At 20MPH I still can't punch it cause mine will be upside down! You had better get the wheelie bar and a brick for the front end! |
Neil and Shaun showed me how to setup the vtwin, It was sick fun for 6 months, great n00b setup, for ease. Im sure a seasoned brushless vet would still enjoy it. My neus with neu 30c lipos dont take off as fast as that vtwin. From reading the traxxas tards trying it, they didnt spend the amount of time I did getting everything setup well. I took the pinions off and reprogrammed those escs 50 times a month until they started together by turning the throttle trim a tad. Long process and lame but it ran sick fast. Cant say I miss it but cant say it wasnt retarded fun and really shouldnt be dismissed. It does cost about the same as a neu MMM but seems not to when you start out scared.
