Update:
MGM received my controller the first week of November. I have sent three e-mails to them inquiring on the status. I've heard NOTHING.

I wouldn't be upset with a month's time if I had some confirmation other than USPS that they even received it. I need it back for my Savage conversion.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a respose from MGM. What you described is pretty much standard procedure from what I have heard. They will eventually get back to you.... When is the question.

Similar thing happened to me about a year ago. I sent in my MGM Compro 12012, and after at least 10 emails and the passage of 6 months, I got it back, without any communication from MGM during that time.

Okay, this puts MGM low on my lis of controllers to buy..

Leaves us with CastleCreations and Quark.

I'm always interested to hear about others' current experiences with MGM's service, since the BEC chip in my 12012 is dead, and will need to be sent in some time (but for now it works with using a UBEC or receiver pack).

I wonder if they want to pay me interest on my money while they have it.

Wouldn't that be nice!

I hope they can turn it around quickly for you. (or at least in a reasonable mount of time)

That kind of sucks. Long time and no esc. Keep us posted on time frame.

neweuser 12.15.2006 06:41 PM

I wouldn't hold my breath for interest though! And after a month and no communication, that is not good at all. It should not take that long to even look at an esc!!!

3 weeks later and no change. Does anybody have any experience making a claim against USPS insurance?

jhautz 01.06.2007 08:51 PM

Not fun. I had to make a USPS claim in July. Not only did they loose my package, they lost my claim!! Twice!!! I finally got paid about 2 weeks ago. Make sure you get the name of the person at the post office that takes the claim.

If it goes as planned, it supposed to take around 6 weeks.

pb4ugo 02.08.2007 05:09 PM

Well another month and still nothing. Mike was going to see if he had better luck with them, I haven't heard anything there either. USPS said all they'd do is send me delivery confirmation, would not initiate a claim.

I guess the question before the panel is: what options or recourse do we have dealing internationally like this? Any?

I know others' experience has been six months. This has only been three so far, but that's three too long to not of heard anything.

Aragon 02.08.2007 06:39 PM

Have you tried phoning them?

MetalMan 02.08.2007 10:10 PM

I'm guessing their spoken English might not be as good as their written English. Besides that, the cost for the phone call might be a bit much :002:.

Aragon 02.09.2007 08:17 AM

FWIW I had a Mega motor (also Czech origin) blow out a while ago and it took about 6 months before I got it back. I did receive a new motor atleast!

If you have some kind of service reference with MGM I would definately give them a call.
