Only the one on the ice, the other video was with 100k, which is why you can hear the front tires spinning.

looks like the rear arms would hit the motor. does it?
|
Yea it does. But only at the very top of the travel. I put a tiny notch in the arm and it doesn't really hit now. Kinda bums me out because I sent an e-mail to here and asked if it would hit with my motor, conversion kit, and the heat-sink and I was told it wouldn't.

i hope RC monster's mount does not do that.
|
RCM mount doesn't - I run it with an XL. It doesn't need all that extra room for the clutch setup etc.
And Tekno even say in their write up of the conversion that you can use the XL motor, so maybe you do have it mounted in the Low CG position as lincpimp says? Then again when they say it works with the XL motor, they don't mention using the RCM heatsink with it too which could add a few mm to it. |
hey i was thinking of picking up this esc and motor combo for my e-revo as it is cheaper than the mamba..i have 14 cells right now thne later to a nice 5s lipo. but is this reliable and easy enough to use? i am also getting the programing card as well would that be a good idea too? thanks alot and sweet revo

The programming card is a good idea, makes programming a breeze. I like the combo in my truck, the esc hasnt got a built in BEC though so be sure to factor in that as an additional cost (I'd recommend the cc bec, coz i like castle lol :P).
Be aware though, that you do get what you pay for. This ESC is not without flaw. It's enormous for one, the heatsink interface is very poor by the looks of it (havent pulled it apart yet, but it looks like it has a thick layer of crappy double sided thermal tape as an interface), and the start up is a bit funny. It doesn't cog, but it's almost as if it has a lot of 'puch control' (if your familiar with the CC programming options), even when normal start is selected (as opposed to soft or super soft). Instead of cogging it just is an ultra smooth power transition, no instant 'punch' that you might expect. If you get the tekno conversion it might not be such an issue since you have a nitro clutch. |
no i have an erevo with a emaxx tranny but i think that would help with breaking parts though.
