My next project begins...
So I started another project. Bought an erevo chassis, skids, center driveshafts, and tranny last night off fleabay. Not a bad price, paid less than 100 bucks for all of it shipped. I paln to take the front and rear ends off the never run revo that I built. So it wil have the rcm hybrid diff cases with 1/8 buggy gears. Plan to use a 1515 1.5d on 4s lipo with a MMM. I may use a MM as I only have one MMM and would like to use it on 6s in the hyper st...
I also picked up another tranny to experiment with. Trying to make a 1/8 center diff fit in there. Should be interesting, and I will start a sepereate thread about that. I am waiting on the parts, and should have everything together pretty quickly after they show up. Now back to my other projects, like the 4 pedes and the vxl rustler and bandit... Shelving the 4-tec for the moment, do not feel like making a motor mount... |
You have ADD something bad linc!
Just a few days ago you were dispensing with some of your revo's. Nice! |
what about that 8ight you just bought too?
|
Like you need another project linc... It sounds like a pretty cool build. Keep us in the loop.
|
A beasty Erevo would be a simpler project to complete, and give you somethig to play with whilst working on the million other projects. I like...
|
Sounds good. I'd love to have so many projects, but I don't have the money.

Easy to finish projects are on top of my list. Plus I can then sell off the tekno conversion kit that I have, and put the stuff from the tekno into the 8ight buggy... I have plans... I may even sell the entire tekno revo as a roller. Not sure if I still want to build a slayer. I almost have enough parts left over to build yet another revo... I will have some pics up soon, had to take the rc room apart a bit. The a/c unit for my work office is in the room, and is covered with a large "box" that I use as a shelf/worktable. The fan motor smoked, and i had to move everything to replacve it. So I need to reorganize it all and get back to work on r/cs!!! I will pull a late evening tomorrow and see what I can get done!!! |

im runing a hopped up compaq from 1999 :D w/ the original pentium 4:gasp: |
This full composite/plastic chassis must have been a pain to design and build for traxxas. At last that prove that using platic bathtub as chassis work on larger scale too
|
Lookin good!
|
Put it together, and it seems very sturdy. I am still waiting on the erevo specific motor mount, and need to put in a servo. I also need to make a decent mount to attach the MMM to the chassis.
Power system will be a 1515 1.5d with the MMM on 4s lipo. Going to use 2 trakpower packs in series. I will have to mod the chassis to get the power wires out of the battery trays. Otherwise it looks good. Will have some pics in the morning. |
nice linc, isnt a 1515 a little overkill? but then agian everyone likes overkill

Nice
Having never seen a E Revo in real life the pic of the bare chassis looks great , what a design . |
linc when you finish this you can send it my way. i will use it i promise.
|
So I got it running. I can safely say that the 1515 1.5d is a great 4s motor. I have run it a few times, and motor temps rarely go over 140f. I need some free time to get a good run and see how it does. Currently running 17/50 gearing, and I feel like it could be geared higher. Pics tomorrow or Sunday...
